| Pink Floyd – Echoes Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I see two possible interpretations for this song. First of all, I think Floydian is right in his "stopping of time" comment. The interaction of the singer and his love fits with either interpretation. Apart from that, it seems that the song is either about evolution, or about a simple, timeless place free of the constraints of society (as has been said by various people here). I'm not sure which they were going for. Unless someone can bring up a quote from Waters or someone else in the band about its meaning, I don't think one could say for sure one way or the other (or maybe it's both). So take it as you want, I guess. I much prefer the second interpretation for a variety of reasons. |

The movie is so cheesy, it's hilarious. About the solos, I can think of a bunch of solos better than Stairway's. And a handful better than this. But that's not to disparage either song. |

| This song takes on extra weight when you look at it from the perspective of a guy singing it about a girl he's interested in. | |

I definitely think the wrong block line is metaphorical. He feels like a fool left out in the rain, like he's been wasting all this time on this woman who is not the one. About: 'I've got no reason to doubt you baby, It's all a terrible mess' The whole song doesn't have to take place in a single point in time. The epiphany may come at the end. But, I could see it being taken literally, too. Who knows, really. |

| Interesting note about this song: It's written in iambic hexameter, a meter commonly used in Greek epics. | |
