i've been listening to Nirvana for 7 years now...thats why i find it annoying. If you've heard all of nirvana's songs own all of their albums and come to appreciate all their stuff all together then you'll find out what i mean...when i'm listening to the radio and they say they are going to play Nirvana and they play Smells Like Teen Spirit i get disappointed ...i've heard it too often and i'd like others to appreciate Nirvana's music for something other then smells like teen spirit...and i never said anything about this song sucking or it being bad for you liking it...IT'S MY FUCKING OPINION. and i don't care what you have to say if you have anything against it...ad i do appreciate music and you can't say that unless you know me |

this is true about smells like teen spirit that it is over rated and there are alot of kids out there who only know this song and say they like nirvana...but that pisses me off alot...but for alot of people smells like teen spirit isn't there favorite song. personally i've heard it too much..but the thing i love about nirvana's smells like teen spirit most is that it's good for learning guitar...any beginner at guitar would have to learn a nirvana songto get them self started..but this song is still a teen anthem never the less..although quite annoying from time to time. |

hmmm I'm rather disappointed with this album...i don't really like the changes very much....i hate that all the songs are so sappy...but i still love the used....by far my favorite songs on the album are the first 3 Take it away, let it bleed and i caught fire...it sucks that Berts best friend died since that made the album so sappy |

hmmm... ok i totally agree with IRONXXXMAIDEN 44 about Kurt's death being over rated..It's true non of us would know about Nirvana if it wasn't for his death...and Geffen must have been so happy for his death...hes more god damn popular dead than alive...why doesn't everyone just die in the music industry?..I mean when kids say oh my parents are losers they listen ot gay music they don't understand! they were around before us! they've heard alot of this music before us..i was lucky enough to have my family introduce me to nirvana...and i mean it's no secret that Kurt Cobain wasn't the best guitarist but i mean COME ON SID VICIOUSE thats a fucking publicity stunt!!! you see all those kids dressing like punks with all the raggoty clothing studs pins vests thats just strait from sid viciouse...SID VICIOUSE WAS IN THE SEX PISTOLS AND HE DIDN'T EVEN PLAY BASS...he sucks at bass..all the songs were written for him...so sid viciouse (however you spell it) is the equivelent of all those homo label bands out there who lip sync or don't write there own songs) so kurt wasn't the worst musician out there...but no one has the right here to judge all these music genres...sure i do ALOT but everyone likes different kinds of music and you can't blame them for it...and as for The Ramones...i mean POWER CHORDS ALL THE WAY like wtf!?! The Ramones are overrated...too many ramones clothing and not enough actually listening to the music..aswell as nirvana they used power chords alot but that wasn't really up until nevermind...bleach and in utero it wasn't as much...im not saying power chords are bad i use them but i don't right all my songs with a power chords from beginning to end..and to "powerchordsrock" i think your officially retarted...i bet you all the bands you just listed all like nirvana..and im sure Kurt Cobain was a better guitarist than you...and i find it a load of shit that you can say nirvana sucks...just because the guitar wasn't great...i mean does that really matter!??! as long as the songs are good...ive heard plenty of metallica songs i don't like because i thought the song sucked but the guitar was still good and vice versa...but i still love metallica..i find megadeth gets annoying from time to time because it's so repeditive but i still love them...every band is different so shut the fuck up lay off the topic and stop saying nirvana sucks...there are some people here trying to prove a point |

I think it has a link to suicide aswell...from reference of the person who lost the loved one....almost like a family member or a close person died or comitted suicide and it was their fault. |

That is a believable theory...but i personally think he was just writing whatever came to mind....you don't always have to be feeling emotions to express in your songs..lsometimes you just write down what sounds good or makes sense....but Kurt Cobain was with his girlfriend when she saw an ad on TV for "teen spirit" deoderent...she kept on saying Kurt smells like teen spirit and then they had sex and he wrote a song about it....i highly doubt Kurt was a SKITZO... |

Ok i admit that putting Kurt Cobain at 12th place for greatest guitarists is a little over the top but guitar and music magazines are always like that it's not surprizing to me at all...in my guitar world magazine they put Jimi Hendrix at the top ten of METAL guitarists..but the reason Kurt Cobain is at the top 20 is because he wrote BETTER songs than Iron Maiden and Joe Satriani....not that i have anything against them as musicians but i think you'll get hooked alot faster on a nirvana song than an iron maiden song....just because he wasn't as good as Jimmy Page doesn't make him a good musician...hes most likely better at guitar than everyone of you here....and even if he wasnt that great of a guitarist (which he is) you have to give him credit for making it to the top and writing an anthem for grunge rock music. Who cares if his guitar skill wasn't the greatest he wrote good fucking music and thats all that matters....when you write as good as Smells Like Teen Spirit, Heart-shaped Box, Downer or Tourettes then you can tell me that Kurt Cobain is a bad guitarist. |
