The Damned's fame has always confused me. They are so good, yet so overlooked! I'm sad not more people are commenting on their songs. This one is very good. They keep up their dark, horrific lyrics while describing something as beautiful as love. The "most exquisite pain" experienced "every night, every day" is such a striking way to describe the feeling. Anyway, I'm almost sure it's just about love but I, of course, could be wrong. |

It said on the site, It May All End Tomorrow, Morrissey said that he really did spend a long time before he really did realize some girls are bigger than others. I wonder if he doesn't sing songs about "bigger girls" to make fun of them, though. |

| Also...I forgot to mention I think its more likely that he doesn't know anything about the girl because of the name "Sierra." He makes references to the desert alot, so he could just give the name "Sierra" randomly because of the Sierra desert. Maybe that's just a neat pun thing for the song. I don't know. | |

On the All Music Guide for II: Power of Moonlite they say, "check out the porn paean 'Annabel Lee' for a perfect example of the band's Misfits fixation." I thought it was just an interpretation of the Poe poem...does anyone know what AMG means by this? |

I'm not sure he really is part of the family, because of the line "and I wonder what they call her - Sierra." It makes me think that he really doesn't know as much about the family, so I'm thinking its more like a One Hour Photo thing and he just wants to be a part of this family he's noticed. Or sometthing like that...I don't know. OR he left the woman [mother] before she had a child, so he really wanted to be a father to a child with this woman. |

Ahh you are the greatest person ever for posting these lyrics. I've been trying to figure them out and they are very far from what you have. Isn't it "Red Hat" though? This is the first and only place I've ever seen lyrics for the song so I really give you major, major props. You made my day [week, year, whatever - I'm pathetic]. |
