| Glassjaw – Losten Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is about the girl who Daryl is singing about throughout the entire album. Or the one who springs into YOU'RE mind whilst you're listening to. Everyone I know tends to channel this album and it's emotions to one person. And as bitter and sour and "you fucking whore!!" they are. Really they are feeling that way because they care/love so much about that person. That is what this song is about. It's Daryl saying despite what I said I still love you! I'm anger and don't know where to put it, so I fired it all at you. And even though it's probably too late, I want you to know.. I. Love. You. In other words the perfect conclusion to EYEWTKAS. |

| Franz Ferdinand – Hallam Foe Dandelion Blow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Tis indeed. The song is pretty much about Hallam Foe (lead character) read the book, watch the film, it'll make sense. | |

| iamtehmadhat are much more on than pragmatic. | |
| Green Carnation – Alone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's a by Edgar Allan Poe. Arcturus have previously used it on their album La Masquerade Infernale, to a much different affect. | |
| Blackfield – Christenings Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I hear it "high times, _and vodka_ in the morning", it'd make a lot more sense with the overall theme of this song than _a butler_?!? Anyway, it's about a washed up quick fix pop star. The trend is over, the record label have fucked 'em off, but still used to the high life, they totally spent up, became bankrupt, and everyone know the rest, no need for me to go on. Oh, and this song is bare tuunnaggee! |

This was great at Wacken... Korpiklaani were the best band of the weekend. I also have a feeling this is about beer, hmmn. |

| Porcupine Tree – Piano Lessons Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song is about modern day fame. And how SW doesn’t want be like that. How he is glad he is a cult figure rather than a Keeler/Paris Hilton-esque famewhore. I think the last two stanzas is in reference to a friend that went for the talentless path, even though could have gone his way, like it should have been. | |

| galaxia is spot on, it about his Crohn's Disease aka the “plague inside of” him. And questioning WHY?!? | |
| Incubus – Drive Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Alcohol…ism. He is using (drink) Driving as a metaphor for life (of an alcoholic… recovering?) Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear. And I can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear take the wheel and steer. (Obviously the introduction is gives the listener the idea of the problem… & the reflection.) It's driven me before, (He’s let alcohol rule his life in the past) and it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal. (Doesn’t it just?) But lately I am beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel. (He’s realized it’s time to kick the habit, and take control of his life) Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there with open arms and open eyes. Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there I'll be there (Getting on with life, and talking it with a stride… Whatever tomorrow brings the narrator will open to it give it a fair chance and do the he can) So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive & will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive? (will he throw everything away to be another washed up rock star?.. Well the whole feel of the song is saying NO to me… He has over come the problem… And with the other band member produced a tune!) |

| In Flames – Dawn Of A New Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
About growing old "The thoughts from yesterday - forgotten. I like the way this new skin feels" and preparing for the good of the future "Bring me splinters of tomorrow Collect the parts where I win" and not letting the little bads worry you/prevent you from possible path ways in life. The chorus sort of backs this Idea up... "Against the grain. Against the odds. I’ll rise and I won’t trip again" whatever bads have happened and look likely to happen doesn't matter 'co this new found self-confidence is too strong.. "The dawn of a new day. Never looked as good as this" pretty self explanatory... "Concrete breath and dust filled tears" okay this is a bit strange... But dust filled makes me think that it has been awhile since he was upset and hat these tears are of release (tears of joy?). "A one-way ride to inner peace" he has found peace within himself and as with most of this song is showing content with his life... "I never thought I’d join the others. Those who use the dice to solve" This (imo) is NOT to do with gambling but taking on challenges and risks within life... Many people don't take a risk in fear of the worse, but Anders has taken it and it has paid off... As the repetition of the chorus seamlessly drums in. :) Yeah.. Overall This song is about life, the future, growing old, etc… And how we should take the chance we have for the good they could bring instead of not for the bad… Then having a million “what ifs” over our heads. Shit if only I’d take heed. |

Like much of STYE this song is about alcoholism (and how it has affected his personal life I really don't have anything to say Just pass me by Don't ask me the same questions Just deny I'm there Like the time around me This room is filled with nothing Fell awkward in a place with many Leave this space to me)... However like B+W seems to round up RTR, feel that this song does the... Anders seems to have found hope.. The person he has been cry out to in the album has noticed his problems and deiced to help... "Still and breathless I don't care what's behind To you I look for energy To catch my breath again " ... But then he again says how he (who isn't the only one) goes back to his old ways of drinking the problems away... "The world looks old to me Tonight I drink myself sober Soon this could be over Tale a picture of the pale" Yet striving for good again... He eventually gets his shit sorted, last stanza chorus..... |

| In Flames – Dial 595-Escape Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| IMO this song is about cycles that (on the edge) relationships through. (You complicate me/my least favourite re-run)... And how even though they (Anders is) are sick and tired of the situation, they (Anders) depends on the other person to get by... It strange but these type of things do happen. | |
| Dream Theater – Solitary Shell Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I too don't think this is about autism. Avoidant personality disorder (APD) (Link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avoidant_personality_disorder)... I'm no expert but that's what I feel this is about... And I can really relate to it :s ... Unfortunately. | |
| Glassjaw – The Gillette Cavalcade of Sports Lyrics | 20 years ago |

IMO… This song is about a relationship (It could be any but, it makes most sense if it’s a friends or significant other) where the two of you have just drifted apart over time. (This isn't where, This isn't where I found you) And that although you know you should just let them be you heart tells you still love them and that you can still be as good as you was. (It's the last stretch, And my heart.. my heart stays in the lead ,And we see first, second behind my heart is my mind, Third behind my mind is my body. Fourth behind my body is my soul, And my heart stays in the lead.) (I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, Around and about... Down, I'm (sc) heir, To thrown nowhere. and I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, A mountain of doubt down, I'm heir to throne nowhere.) Is the emptiness felt with the realization of the loss/distancing of the relationship. (Here's where the train ride ends. Screaming, "Is this your decision?" We were the best of friends, and I'll go nowhere.) This is saying I love you and I’ll always be there for you regardless, but it’s your choice if you want to move on and leave me behind… Selling out maybe? Overall yeah, it’s about a how relationships just seem to fade away. |

| A Perfect Circle – Annihilation Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I found this cover version very, very disappointing (actual i found eMotive pretty disappointing). Why only the intro as well? Anyway the original was done by crucifix. Sepultura also covered the whole version of the song on the digi-pack of nation. P.s APC altered the lyrics. It should be.... [Intro] From dehumanization, to arms production, for the benefit of the nation, or its destruction, power is power, it's the law of the land, those who live for death, would die by their own hands. Life is no ordeal, if you can come to terms, reject the system, which dictates the norm, from dehumanization, to arms production, for the benefit of the nation, or its destruction, it's your choice: PEACE or ANNIHILATION! |

| In Flames – Metaphor Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think the title has something to do with meaning of the song. And that it is just a song about life in general and how all is not as it seems. "Do you think you can show me, how I got this far?" Is said like a pray to god, asking him(or her) for a sign. Or it could me that it is what you make of it and that it has no one true meaning. Some nice suggestions of what i could be though.^^ |
