No, Vertigorn, I think it's pretty obviously about the HIV thing. Look at the "Always wondering if what they said was true" line. Rumors about her being HIV+. "A wave of panic every time I lose a hair"...he's talking about being excessively paranoid. In fact the whole second verse fits that theory. "Taking a chance with her", "skin to skin"...
I think it's pretty clearly to do with HIV. |

When I just listen to the music in this song, it's beautiful, romantic, sexy...
Then the lyrics truly sink in, and it's a mixture of disturbing, hilarious, and just plain genius. I gotta admit, the song just wasn't the same for me once I paid attention to the lyrics.

Amazing song...I may be totally off base, but to me it seems like he's singing to a love who has gone astray, probably because of something he did, but he has faith that things will be back to the beauty that there was before all of the trouble. He hurts because he feels that the trouble is his fault, but at the same time, he feels like it will all be better someday, and won't give up on her. |
