Johnny Hollow – Gone Lyrics 21 years ago
sorry, forgot to edit the second stanza- "Into this hollow tree". Also, it's "Fire that will not quit//upon hell's throne I must sit".

Actually, this song inspired me to draw- something I haven't done in a long time. The photo is here: http://www.geocities.com/tranquildementia/gone.html

Johnny Hollow – Gone Lyrics 21 years ago
Actually, the lyrics are:

Stick me with pins
Peel away my skin
Pluck out my eyes
I can't stand to see you die

Dark skies have followed me
Into this hollow dream
Memories of moonlit nights
Replaced by this hopeless plight

An angel with tattered wings
I hear you sing
What's become isn't just
I shuffle through your lonely dust
Fire that will not quit
Upon this throne I will sit

All I do is scream at night
It's a silent fight
For you I know,
There's nothing right
I and to you, I say goodnight
Goodnight
Goodnight

AFI – Miseria Cantare: The Beginning Lyrics 21 years ago
Actually, I believe this song (like many others) is speaking on somewhat religious terms. It is another reference to the Nephilim, born from angel and human- condemned since birth, whether they are good or bad. Many of them become evil, if they are not evil by nature, because they knowthey have no hope for salvation. They become hateful and bitter. He makes a lot of references to them. For example, the song "The Nephilim", and the lines in another song "I watched the stars fall from the sky- I held a fallen star and it wept for me, dying. I watched the fallen stars encircle me, now as they cry..." The bible refers to angels as stars. So, fallen stars- Nephilim.

This song is of initiation. "Love your hate, your faith lost..." They tell this person to feel alright with the resentment for God that they carry, their faith being no more. They all form one dark flame... one dark beauty, one black light, if you can see that. That person has fallen, has realized what he is fully- he is now accepted as one of the dark angels.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I see it as a running theme in some of these newer works.
