i first heard this song a retreat that i went on. it was the final day of an emotially exhausting retreat, and this song put a lot of things into perspective for me. the song really pulled all of us together towards the end of high school. even though i am not a christian any more, i could understand the message that the song was conveying.
the path to our destination is not always a straight one. we go down the wrong road, we get lost, we turn back. maybe it doesn't matter which road we embark on. maybe what matters most is that we embark on a road to begin with. |

some of this song reminds me of a girl that i used to be really close to. for 3 years, we were really good friends. a lot of people would question whether or not we were a couple because of how close we were. i decided to act on that, and asked her to our senior prom. little did i know that she would talk shit behind my back, say things that were just blatent lies, and then try to cover it up with a bullshit apology. 3 years of my life gone, because of one girl. luckily, i've moved on, and what she's done has come back to bite her in college. i think i'll have an ice cream cone just to celebrate that |

towards the end of my senior year of high school, i put this song on a soundtrack for my class. this is a great song for times of transition in your life where you become attatched to a lot of people, only to have to leave them. in my case, i was very close to so many friends, and leaving each other was inevitable. but having the knowledge that those we truly care about are going to be with us in spirit lifted a lot of that fear and anxiety of what was to come. |
