Its foolish to go into a relationship when you don't know the other person. He's telling the girl he wants to know everything about her, even the things she wouldn't want him to know. He'll do the same for her. Its about being sure. Its about liking someone for who they are and finding out that the perfect girl isn't out there.... its the girl who is perfect for you... that one searches for.

This song gives me so much strength some times. It has to do with a breakup and a pain so deep it hurts to breathe. When I hear this song- I just see myself standing on the roof of a large building, looking down at the lights of the city and resenting the fact that everyone else is happy and no one knows the pain that is being felt above them. He wishes that they could begin to know how hurt he is. Maybe somehow it'll get back to the girl who hurt him.

I think this song is about a guy who was led on. He was crazy about her and she acted like she was just as crazy about him. Then one day he realizes that she really doesn't even want a relationship and just wanted to be friends all along (hence this wasted so many nights and again I've wasted so much time on a friend) but he was (too young, too proud) to see that she really didn't feel the same. He thought they were meant for each other. So now he's desperately trying to get back at her by saying it meant nothing to him. In reality it meant the world. He's trying to hurt her like she hurt him with the hope that she TRULY did like him under the surface... just didn't show it the same way. that's how i can relate to it... and that's how i feel about it.

I think its about depression... He's so depressed that he just wants to give up just like other people who have lost their way (the ships) If he wanted to, he could pull himself out of this deep depression but he wouldn't be happy for long, so he decides its time to let the depression take him.

I think its quite possible that this song may have something to do with HIM breaking up with her. Has anyone ever made u feel really great... someone you really enjoyed being with but you knew a relationship was impossible with? He doesn't want to hurt her... the girl he adores... but he knows that he can't continue the relationship... but he doesn't "want to be wrong." In breaking up with her he feels as if she's leaving him. In fact he's left so many women before, that he knows he'll be gone like a saturday night... just like always. That's what I get out of it... and its how i relate to it.

I heard this song on AWARE presents: Ear Snacks Vol. 3. Its a cd put out there to get bands that aren't very well known... well known. This is one of the best songs on the cd... Can't get it outta my head... BUT what does it all mean?! I think its about a guy who recently was broken up with and is having a hard time getting over the person who broke up with him. She continuously calls him... makes him think he can get her back and what not and just toys with him. Now he's sick of her games and he's made up his mind to become his own person. He wants to leave her behind and in the past and be done with her. that's what i got out of it... and that's the reason i told a girl i never wanted to see her again. :)
