| maybe it means apc as a band is 'over this'.. meaning the issues feelings or people they wrote about to compile the cd have all now been processed.. and its on to the next | |

| this song is clearly about drug addiction.. the uneasy first step towards sobriety is surrending... if you've ever crossed paths with alcoholics anonymous you'll hear all the lingo... Surrendering is the first step, and in AA you surrender to a 'higher power' of your choice.. in this case it is the 'unkown'... leaving the choice wide open to your beliefs. It also says 'help me survive the bottom' which is another AA term describing the state you find yourself in when the drugs aren't keeping you high enough to deny your state. This song may appear depressing.. but really describes one of the most empowering experiences any addict may ever go through.. realization and revelation.. sometimes more than once. | |

Did you stop reading right after you saw that last sentance? because he goes on to say: Loder: Have you ever had a drug problem yourself? Keenan: I've experimented, absolutely. I've definitely treaded that fine line. But I've never gotten so down into it that I couldn't dig my way back out, luckily. There's that voice in there somewhere — which some people don't have — that says, "Hang on, come back." all i can really say is i've treaded that fine line too, and thats ALL it takes to understand it. |
