such a brilliant song and a great bass line to go along aswell. i think its talking about some of the more fucked up things happening in the 21st century and saying he's sure its hapening for a reason hes not too sure what the reason is but hes sure this stuff is meant to happen so we can move on from it |

the whole album is made up of anthems sounds mature yet full of life and just flows. just love this album.
just a point indie rock roll you do realise its not just girls that have insecurities and im sick of people saying its a girls problem a friend of mine is very insecure about himself and it doesnt really help when hes told its a girls problem. its a problem for everyone that has severe insecurities dont discount people just because the dont always talk about it as freely |

improbably behind the debate here but can i just point science is a way of looking at things without prejudice and proves things by studying them over and over again constantly updating them as we can study things in more detailand the only reason scientists place so much faith in ideas such as conservation of energy is because it has been found over and over again if someone comes up with say an experiment that proves this theory wrong and is repeatable the science will embrace this and look more closely to see where it went wrong in making these previous conclusions fact is no one has done this so science goes on using what is at the moment believed to be true.
yes faith is important but science in no way says people shouldnt have faith because if they have true faith then whatever scientists say they will always believe what they believe so it wouldbe fighting a losing battle. all science is says is so far by using these rules we can get some idea of how the world around us works and gives rules that if you follow seem to work and xplain the way our environment works.
and it is not science that is destroying our world it is simply certain applications of the theories that science comes up with. the man that discovered nuclear fission did not do it to destroy people he simply stated something he noticed and people realised it could be used as a weapon (but can i also point out it also lead the way to most efficient energy production technique that is clean), i realise this a controvertial topic and many people wont agree but i urge them to look at the true facts behnd nuclear power and not be swept along with scare stories from people with intrests in other power generation options (not that most of these are good options there just not as effective as nuclear).
one last point even tribes that respect religion more then scientific practice destroy there environment as do all animals the earth is a rescourse that we have to use to survive and it is science that is leading the way to find was that mean we wont use it so rapidly but even if science didnot exist we would eventually use up all the resources of the earth either before or after the life of the sun finishes this is why exploration of space is looking at other planets that we could inhabit for when we have no further use for the earth |

ok first of all im from england so im looking at this from a different perspective. and before people start insulting my intelligence (which im sure will happen) i am currently at university studying physics and i grew up in a relativly poor house with the houshold earnings under 10,000 pounds (i dont know what that is your money).
1) this war is only being fought against iraq because they are one of the only countries with a dictator like this to be so oil rich. they could quiet have easily attacked north korea and free those opressed people but bush wouldnt have gained anything from this.
2) granted you dont have the draft anymore but the army is still full of people signing up because of the help they give to them and the government relies on these benifits being the major way for the less well off to improve themselves (please notice that they do not specifically aim at wealthier classes)
3) i dont follow what someone said about there would be no wars if there were no soldiers, it would just mean soldiers would be trained before a war.
4)i dont think the troops should be removed from iraq imediatly the country needs time to settle and this can only be done with forign help, it is our mess we should help clear it up
5) i dont think it is a bad thing saddam is gone but i still think there was more we could do without going to war, the only reason we rushed into the war was because we were told there were wmd that could be launched in 45 mins(which was a lie)
6) when i was growing up my family recieved government support and i donot support our current prime minister does this mean i shouldnt accept the money, no. it is for similar reasons that SOAD use a big company to spread there message because it is the best way to do it and if they used a smaller company they couldnt support there needs, just because you dont support the system doesnt mean you should nessasarily live out side of it there is nothing wrong with trying to change something from within.
before people tell me to keep my nose out of your business (which again im sure some are thinking) i think you will find the music is released globally and britain is also in iraq as well (granted not in as great numbers but it is your war and we are supporting and besides you just have more action menthen we do, i put it down to you just having lots of people and being just a bit big). anyway rant over im sure ive missed some points but this is getting very long now |

i must admit i always aw it as just things he has seen around him in his neighbour hood as hes walking to susans house. but i also like the idea of napple snapple comment as it really seems to fit. and in response to wedaft the actual meaning of the song doesnt matter to me so much but it what it means to me thast important and so whether you are intersted in what the artist was thinking when he wrote the song or just what it means to other people all points are valid |

1- all the world is getting with 'i say' consequences are alot but hey.

truely is a beautiful song! i know many ppl that had not heard of muse before but instantly recognise this song and had no idea this was there song. to me the song is a person who is trying to say to someone else that they could have a great future together and saying you are my reason for living ' choice to live my life extended'. whoever the person who is being to told has just come out of a relationship 'First there was the one who challenged All my dreams and all my balance' but this person was not good enough for them 'she could never be as good as you' and the person who is being told is saying i need some time as im still sorting out my life after that last realationship'I'll be there as soon as I can But I'm busy mending broken Pieces of the life I had before'. sorry didnt mean that to be so long |

to me i think this song is that men of religion often think about heaven and pray before they die and this song askes the question what does an atheiest think of as he obviously doesnt think he will go to heaven but that this truely is the end and it scares him that this is all he has to look forward to. |
