| Paris Hilton – Stars Are Blind Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
When I see songs like this coming out as the norm (& people like Paris Hilton in the spotlight) I think 'what is wrong with the world?' Why do we focus on people like this? I guess it's because the majority of people who aspire to be like her are idiots! Society has alot of 'growing up' to do... in an evolutionary sense, because Paris is a lower-consciousness life form. Not to mention that she is a relationship addict... probably feels incomplete and quite insecure underneath the layers of bravado & designer clothing. It's all bull shit. |

| Coldplay – White Shadows Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Not particularly one of my favourite songs on the album, I think this song is about, first and foremost, whatever the listener thinks it's about. Everything (obviously) we project onto the song is a signature of our subjectivity, a strata of ourselves. Although the artist may have had a particular meaning in mind. White shadows... I suppose, to me- they are the metaphysical underpinnings of Life. The hidden meaning contained within all things, the cosmic origins of all creation, the laws of cause and effect and the mysterious workings of what we refer to as 'fate'; but is really only an energy that we send out and that is a reflection of ourselves. 'Maybe you'll get what you wanted Maybe you'll stumble upon it Everything you ever wanted In a permanent state' To me this is like having knowledge of underlying forces, yielding them, and co creating your destiny by realizing your inner powers. We are supposed to grow and evolve into this new knowledge and aquire these abilities as part of our evolutionary process. For more information on cocreation, go to www.kyron.com/altindex.htm |

| Coldplay – Swallowed in the Sea Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I love this song. I'm into astrology and the song has a very strong 12th house/Pisces/Neptune quality. Swallowed in the sea is kind of like being immersed in the collective unconscious, transcending the ego and not actually having a tangible identity as such- but being purely a colaborative energy that is a product of mass consciousness. I have always thought I would be more comfortable as a spirit/energy than in a human body, where everything is infinite, as it is in a street that is 'a thousand houses long'. Belonging to something that is greater than any individual, being engulfed in a blissful state of undifferentiated Being. That's what it means to me, anyway. It could be about love but it could also be about the unification of yin/yang energies, of dark and light- and the journey towards wholeness, the evolution of human kind. |

| Something For Kate – Kaplan/Thornhill Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
this is a beautiful song. I was listening to it as I was driving home late one night and the wind was blowing like crazy. I was being honked at by a strange car and I had no idea who it is, I thought it was a crazy person and it was actually someone I knew. Anyway I think the meaning has something to do with treating types of people differently when you've had past experience with similar people.... second guessing them, thinking you know what they're like when you really don't, and you're not really sure about them in general but you decide to take the chance to get to know them anyway. Even though your opinion of them is constantly changing, you keep having to go back to them to relate... having learned from past mistakes, you treat the situation differently in the current scenario. Maybe the person involved acts as a trigger in some way, reminding you of something you'd rather forget. It may also be about seeing yourself in another person, and finding them intriguing and complex, I don't know. It's very late and I could do a better reading of this some other time. :S |

| Björk – Hyperballad Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I had a vision this morning (I've never heard this song) of being in a beaten-up ute with boxes of snakes in the back... I have lost control of the car and jumped off before the snakes devoured me and the ute drove itself off a cliff. I then got into this other car which was brand new, shiny blue... the terrain changed into lush valleys, and there was a beautiful white dog in the passenger's seat. I got in the car, started driving and kissed the dog... and as soon as I kissed it it turned into this guy I just recently decided I like... as soon as it did I freaked out, and returned to my vision. I'm not sure how but does this relate to the song in any way.. being about/around the cliff, and all. I have also recently had past-life regression therapy and kinesthology (aura-cleansing- a process by which the subtle bodies are restored, healed and re energized) and have done alot of 'throwing away' my 'old stuff'. I am tend to re-invent, and transform myself alot... my personality is in a state of constant change. I'm always looking for greener pastures. And there is definately a danger in getting overly involved with someone before a relationship has even gotten off the ground... energetically. That is my dilemma. Throwing away the body is like, throwing away the ego/personality. Of course you are left with the soul. The eyes are the windows to the soul. Bjork's lyrics are so simple yet so awesome, so broadly-focussed. And if you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss will also gaze back into you. |

| Björk – All Is Full of Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Wow... I have not listened to much of Bjork's music, but these lyrics are amazing. I think what she is trying to say, that on a metaphysical level- love is all around us, it is the very essence of all creation, so everything contains light and love. All physical matter, in its molecular density, contains seeds of love, the white light quintessence of the universe. We look for love in relationships, the physical world... all very superficial places. But the main place we find love, is in spiritual enlightenment, and the realization that we are all pieces of God, all interconnected. This is not strictly a religious belief... but more new-age(d), metaphysical. To twist the head around would be an act of magic, a supernatural feat. Prehaps there are supernatural forces at work when we are considering the divine nature of true love. something that is not of this world, but whose origins lie in other (more enlightened) dimensions. |

| Green Day – Holiday Lyrics | 21 years ago |

America's nationalism is at its peak right now... it was difficult for them to write these (politically-minded, anti-Bush) songs but they earned themselves a fair amount of public acclaim and respect before they took the plunge and wrote about what they thought of the current political situation in America. I think the album is beautiful- I'm not a strictly punk fan- I enjoy most genres of music (bar country). What makes it so great and gives it an excellent lifespan, is that there is a common thread/storyline to the songs, they 'link' each other and I think that's what makes people want to listen to the whole thing (or a few songs) rather than like just one song in the whole album. I saw the video clip for 'American Idiot' and I thought Green Day were really on to something good... the album had to be good. I was not dissapointed. My favourite songs are 'Holiday' and 'Jesus of Suburbia', as well as 'Give Me Novacaine'. I used to like 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' but after listening to it a few times I decided it reminded me of a headspace I cared not to re-experience... I think now that we are never alone, on a spiritual level we are all connected to each other, we are all human and 'share' human qualities, and spiritual- on a metaphysical level. We can feel alone but we are never actually alone, despite what we think and feel. The feeling always passes. |

I agree with Cosmic10304... I think it's about trying to escape the pain of the physical world, and the pain induced by being in a physical body ('out of body and out of mind... kiss the demons out of my dreams')- and yes, 'numbing' yourself through drugs, channelling, getting overly involved with other planes of existence and disregarding the physical. Complete disconnection from the physical world, physically taxing states of mind, psychosomatic illness. And 'if you gaze long enough into the abyss, it will also gaze back into you'. |

| Something For Kate – Letter To The Editor Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I love this song... I found myself listening to it over and over again. I was sure the lyrics ment something to me.. or really resonated with my own experience/worldview. I'm not entirely sure what it's about... but I can take a stab. These are just opinions, right? What I can read into it, is the superficiality of human-generated information networks. The lack of conception of Absolute Truth- the Infinate (All Being) conception of reality. The powerful pull of the cosmos, the dance of the spheres ('fiction falling from the skies') but then, fiction is like... the stuff of storybooks. Maybe what we think is true (non ficticious) is actually false, and vice-versa. Fiction is truth and non fiction is human opinion. 'Tell it like it is'... (Truth) 'I'll put the pieces together' (we can form many opinions on the truth of things) 'but I'll never ever know' (the 'human implant' that prevents us from knowing, remembering or concieving of Ultimate Truth we know of on the other side of the veil). Who is the 'editor'. The editor is like a microcosm of human society itself, who manipulates, creates (new) and misinterprets already existing information to create a 'world of lies'. 'There's a light in your eyes'... they say the eyes are the windows to the soul. Truth can be found in our eyes, the white light energy of the universe (the source of ultimate truth, our ultimate reality) shines through our eyes. Plato likened the eye to the sun, which was symbolic of truth but inconcievable through our human physical and intellectual faculties because it was 'blinding'. Black and white tends to extremes. 2 sides of the coin. 2 sides of the veil, which is thinning as I write. We are becoming more spiritually aware as the magnetic grids have been shifted by the lightworkers on the other side of the veil, like the ascended master Kyron- who is 'of magnetic service'. 'They've been kicking down my door... but I'm not taking any calls.. and the choice of words is choose no words say nothing.. nothing at all'... in society, we influence each other with our opinions and exchange energy. In this case, it is the choice to shut yourself off from external information, energy- the vehicle for communication in this case, is silence and isolation. Which is a paradox, really, because that would render it non-communication. Each extreme contains its opposite... lack of information contains an abundance of information. I know that sounds like philosophical rhetoric, but if you think about it- it's like yin and yan. They attract each other, and contain qualities that bind them. Return to the black and white= extremes, but they are interdependent. Like silence and non-silence- information, communication. I'm not sure if I'm getting my point across very well. Oh well. 'They want your head on a plate'... materialism is at its Zenith. Prehaps an expression of capitalistic sentiments that want to see everything commodifyed. |

| Nickelback – Flat On The Floor Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is about alot of things... the pressing need for self sufficiency in a world rendered 'hopeless'. Prehaps a lack of motivation to get involved in Life... or an overwhelming tendency to self-destruct when it is impossible to make a stand against life's obstacles. The funny thing about songs, is that you tend to read your own world/life paradigm(s) into them. | |
