| this is really a good song...and i dont think its about prostition...i think its about a girl that, yes lived a spoiled life, but daddy didnt give her time...so she picked a diff kind of life...a fast paced life....men, the streets (NOT PROSTITUTION), partying and looking for a man to love her (the kind that her father didnt give her), not just use her...and looking back on it all, she "THINKS" her daddy should have just known that-- "they should have seen it in your eyes"......i could be wrong, but thats just my thought.... | |

first let me start, I have done drugs (AND IM NOT PROUD OF IT)...if you go down the line of drugs, you have pot, coke then heroin (as far as where most start and finish)....when you start out in life, you start as a child/baby then become and adult...as far as the percentage of people that do/have used drugs and haven’t---the users have it by far... MOST OF FLOYD’S LISTENERS USE SOME TYPE OF DRUG (I DIDN’T SAY ALL!!!)---there's definitely controversy with their songs--I see that with everyone’s’s opinion...in my opinion, this song is about drugs, as far as who's usage, that is left untold...it’s the beg to the end of stardom and heroin usage... "HELLO, IS THERE ANYONE IN THERE JUST NOD IF YOU CAN HEAR ME IS THERE ANYONE AT HOME COME ON NOW”"---heroin usage is calling....do you wanna try me? "I HEAR YOU'RE FEELING DOWN, I CAN EASE YOUR PAIN....AND GET YOU ON YOUR FEET AGAIN"...emotional pain!!! if you are mentally unstable (IN ANY ASPECT), you are in pain....drugs ease emotional pain (whether they are prescribed or not; prescribed=antidepressants is what I mean)...being "famous" isn’t all its cracked up to be, think about it!!!...in the beginning you think its so great, but THINK ABOUT IT, u cant even go out of your house without someone wanting you!!!! most of depressed people turn to drugs/alcohol to take away that pain--its called self medicating (look it up!!!!)... "THERE IS NO PAIN, YOU ARE RECEDING"---you don’t feel that emotional pain anymore----YOU ARE emotionally NUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “CAN YOU SHOW ME WHERE IT HURTS”—you can’t show emotional pain, only you can feel it!!!!! "WHEN I WAS A CHILD I HAD A FEVER, MY HANDS FELT JUST LIKE TWO BALLOONS. NOW I'VE GOT THAT FEELING ONCE AGAIN. I CAN'T EXPLAIN, YOU WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND. THIS IS NOT HOW I AM. I HAVE BECOME COMFORTABLY NUMB"....when you are emotionally unstable you are sick===="fever"====sick......a shot for hepatitis doesn’t ease emotional pain or make you NUMB....do u think he’s gonna come right out to his fans and say, hey, im famous and im emotionally sick?? DUHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! "O.K., JUST A LITTLE PIN PRICK, THERE'LL BE NO MORE AAAAAAAAAAH! BUT YOU MAY FEEL A LITTLE SICK, CAN YOU STAND UP? I DO BELIEVE ITS WORKING, GOOD. THAT'LL KEEP YOU GOING THROUGH THE SHOW"....when you SHOOT (pin prick) heroin the first few times, and sometimes even after that---you puke your guts up---I KNOW I BEEN THERE DONE THAT....as I said being famous isn’t all its cracked up to be, so to be able to get up on stage you need that "boost", something so you feel NUMB and not feel any, possible, emotional pain---when you are on that stage, you are under a microscope by your FANS---if the show sucks your stardom goes down...if you miss a line, or go off note, ANYTHING...but if your high, you don’t care, YOU ARE NUMB---the show can belly up, but you wont see it or FEEL it....on heroin, u nod out--and trying to function isn’t easy... "CAN YOU STAND UP?"-----think about it!!!! not to mention, if you PHYSICALLY addicted to heroin you can’t do anything not high----YOUR DOPE SICK!!!!! "WHEN I WAS A CHILD I CAUGHT A FLEETING GLIMPSE, OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE, I TURNED TO LOOK BUT IT WAS GONE. I CANNOT PUT MY FINGER ON IT NOW. THE CHILD IS GROWN, THE DREAM IS GONE AND I HAVE BECOME COMFORTABLY NUMB"......as a child (pre stardom) it sounded great....WELL BE FAMOUS...that feeling changed once he had it....and reality set in----STARDOM SUCKS!!!!....he had no life---personal life...he couldn’t go to the store without being noticed...he couldn’t do anything without someone saying "HE’S FAMOUS.......can you autograph this......can I have your picture---"the list could go on...as you can see with many stars, some take it great, others HATE IT---look at some of the stars and others (IM NOT MENTIONING ANY NAMES).....the ADORING FANS!!!!! the dream of being famous is now a reality, the dream is GONE---and I have become "comfortably numb"---im famous and high---my dream came true--im happy---BUT I HATE IT!!! when people write songs, sometimes they mask what they are really trying to say, that’s what makes the fans "love" the song---so many diff possibilities of what it means--- FLOYD--YOU ROCK...YOUR WORK IS GREAT!!!!! |
