| The Tragically Hip – Goodnight Josephine Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Camon folks, this is a wicked track. I know nobody knows me, or my taste in music, but go out on a larf and download this tune. I believe it alludes to Napoleon's relationship with Josephine as a metaphor for every guy's relationship with his girlfriend. To every guy, in his own mind, he sees himself as his woman's conquering hero, and if it is true love, he would do anything for her. Hence the line about walking into his girl's painting. Like Josephine, Gord feels his girl deserves her own painting |

| The Tragically Hip – The Dire Wolf Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This one's about the wreck of a boat called The Despatch in the 1800's off Isle aux Morts, near Newfoundland. Even though the boat went down, a courageous islander, his daughter, and their dog saved many of the passengers lives' Unfortunately, the dog died while helping to save them. His breed was huskie, hence the name 'dire wolf'. Canada Lee and Tallulah Bankhead were actors in the 1944 movie Lifeboat, which adds further proof to the song's theme. This song is killer, a top notch Hip tune. |

| The Tragically Hip – Summer's Killing Us Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Holy geez. We need some more Canadians on this board. This song is unbelieveable. It was incredible when they performed it live this past July at Ontario Place. To me, this song is about a perfect summer, and all the attributes that go with it- awesome days, having a summer girl, and playing lots of beach volleyball. The best lines are at the end "summer exists in a doorway, summer exists at the fair' I can't even explain why I like these lines so much. To me, that is the definition of an amazing song. |

Just a theory, but I have a sneaky suspicion this song alludes in part to the 'Red riots' in Toronto during the 1940's, when Communists held rallies in the streets. Many people opposed this, but nothing could be done to stop them due to free speech. Canada was well aware of the perils of communism, but due to its open-mindedness could not break up these Communist rallies. Hence 'The man they couldnt hang stepped to the mic and sang' Theres definitely a chick involved in this story though, too. |

This song's about everyone's high school crush. The girl you didn't get. Mine was this girl named Erin. Sat beside her in Gr. 9 science. Its about the one crush that never goes away, because so its innocent and reminds you of a time when things were simpler. The song is also about how the guy realizes the girl is a lot like him, but she tries to be different and hang with different crowds. He just wants he to accept who she is and be with him. "I'm no good, you're not better, wouldn't be perfect togerther?" |

| Bouncing Souls – Quick Chek Girl Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Another killer Souls song. My all-time fave by them. Its wicked- boy meets girl, boy flirts with girl, boy doesn't get girl. We've all been there a million times. The difference is that the guy in the song acted cool, and wrote her a wicked note, so its her loss for not going out with him. |

| This song kicks ass. Its all about going out with your boys and partying. The Souls usually have a song like this on every CD they put out (Manthem, Bullying the Jukebox, Here we Go) Sick tune, awesome at parties, as long as there aren't any ginos or hip-hoppers around | |
| Third Eye Blind – Losing a Whole Year Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think that this song is about a guy who dates a girl whose parents are divorced, and as a result of the divorce, the girl can't fall in love. "But your daddy left you with no love" The guy in the song feels foolish for wasting a whole year on a girl who can't love him back. He realizes that her actions at the beginning of the relationship weren' sincere, and now she's shown her true colours. Its a pretty sad song. |

| Third Eye Blind – London Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I think that this song is about a long-distance relationship gone bad. The guy in the song is so fed up with the girl's games because they have made him jealous, and an overall worse person. "We're no good for each other" Also, he knows that he cannot see her again, because he is sure she will play mind games if he sees her again. He has some left over feelings, but the tone of the song suggests that he's ready to move on. He knows she has somebody else, and "I want to get my hands on him" is a wicked line. Clever song |

| Third Eye Blind – Graduate Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
SJ said himself that this song is about male prostitution, and how the character in the song resolves to make something of himself after years of nothingness. Its also a great coming-of-age song, an inspiration to become the best you can be. 'Can I graduate' can be a graduation from anything- school, quitting smoking, getting promoted, dating a beautiful woman, moving away...Killer song. 3EB is unreal. |

| Third Eye Blind – Can't Get Away Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song is unreal. I think its about a guy who goes travelling around the world, and while he's travelling all he can think about is the girl he left behind. He 's still in love with her and sees her everywhere i.e. "Where the ocean meets the land is like the sliding of your hand" The last part of the song is so poetic. I think he hallucinates, believing that the girl is with him "Funny how we always pick these spots" He knows that now he's seen the world the one thing he wanted all along was the girl. |
