yeah, it probably is somewhat associated with drugs, but I mean seriously, a day and a half and I am still high, of course drugs are involved, but sometimes drugs plus a certain mood are associated with a place, hell, I have felt like a lot of different places, and I think this is just a certain experience associated with a certain place, and once that feeling returns, the impulse to return to that particular place comes along with it |

ok, addition to the last entry, if it is indeed "optimist" it makes even more sense, call an optimist, she's turning blue, meaning call someone who cares, or someone to "save" the girl by dealing with them...... does that make sense to anyone else? |

I am not too sure on the whole aftermath/optimist debate, but to me this song is about doing drugs with someone and watching them start to overdose on some kind of coke/speedy drug. It's been my experience that people start to look blue at that point(lips, hands, etc.... start to turn blue from lack of oxygen, circulation), and the it's best to keep things in the shallow end, meaning they really dont want to deal with it, its better just to watch, they dont feel like intervening, so they just ignore it, almost like they are completely detached from the situation, saying blue is such a lovely color for you is a somewhat shallow statement also. So instead of talking with the person about why they are doing what they are doing to themselves, they keep it in the shallow end. |
