If you really are a hardcore fan (hahah i said hardcore), you would know that the great works of 'the blue albulm' werent really weezer's work neither was 'the green albulm' so booh yahh!!! So, really this song is fabulous, yeah its not say it aint so level lyrics, but its fun and more experimental sound wise than anything theyve done since pinkerton. this song has nothing to do with the giver. The names are just a coincidence and ! the only other similar meanings are just a freaky thing because they both have similar hubris, and the Jonas and Weepel are what rivers calls himself and his brother Jimmy. See he was going to use their nicknames (Jimmy and Weezer) but then he doesn't want too much of a coincidence because that would fuck up his insecurity thing so he took names from that, Look Weepel and Weezer, i meaan....... |

ok yeah i know i just posted, but i listened to the song again, and i think its not so much about a dream, as much as a dream girl. About half of weezer songs are about him looking for his perfect girl, in this song, he finally found his dream girl. Yet he realizes that she exsisits only in dreams, yeah and maybe he is having a wet dream about her, maybe not. |

I am in a fight with myself, I can't figure out if this song is about a wet dream or smoking pot and getting high. I think I have been convinced however that it is a wet dream. It is just kind of obvious. Then the musical build up is the "orgasm" if you will, and also the end of the dream. Yeah and how come no one mentioned the toenail reference? Am i mistaken or is that not the only foot reference in a Weezer song, some one has a foot fetish!!! |

Rivers is by far one of my favorite song writers and definitly a genius. But like any great writer, he has his passion, his niche, his style. Rivers' is emo. He always goes for the "woe is me, the girl left me thing." Yet, being the fabulous writer he is he twists phrases, plays with words/phrases, or just straight out uses pure sarcasm. That is why Weezer, by far, has the best 'What do song lyrics mean?' board. And I also think this is great how all of this is happening. Rivers could have ment many things by the "smoked a few in my time" line. But whats great is that by that one line in one song, he has sparked so much, except for you fuckers talking about the damn movie in the begining. But anyways. Back to his niche. Rivers refers to the whole settling down thing frequently. And the whole this girl would have been the one, and how that one girl would have straigtened him out. This is why I think that by the smoking line he was refering to drugs, not homosexuality. Also with the "If I was the last girl on earth" line, he was totally playing with words and being sarcastic, not refering to him being a trasvestite. I fully support skizlano and his story. |

I am writing my midterm for english on this song. Rivers Cuomo is a genius, and I love him. This song has nothing to do with women, therefore it cannot be sexist. This song is all about River's weakness, his hubris. He is selfish and paranoid. He is woried about girls leaving him and cheating on him.
