| The Pointer Sisters – Jump (For My Love) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Why has no-one commented on this? Arguably one of the best songs ever! My phone ringtone, and without fail everyone around me grins when it goes off. Hugh Grant + Love Actually + this song = classic |

| Enya – Deora Ar Mo Chroí Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This has to be one of my favourite Enya songs. Beautiful. I read somewhere that this is what the women sung when their men went away, like a love song. If I recall correctly. I am so getting married to this song |

| Ben Folds – Not The Same Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Hah, I never noticed Ben screaming "you were not the same" before! It sounds awesome ... When I saw him live less that an month ago, the cheeky bugger was conducting us in the "ahhh-ahhh" bit. It was so ... uh ... uplifting ... when everyone sing that bit, gave me shivers. I love Ben Folds. |

| Pete Murray – Please Lyrics | 20 years ago |

The chorus is wrong, it's actually "Please say something, I want you to. At 2 this morning I have to go All is nothing Without you etc..." But I love this song. Aw ... come 'ere Pete, let me give you a hug! |

| Powderfinger – Sunsets Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I *love* this song. This is the only song a canNOT get sick of at all. I have it on repeat all the time. The acoustic version is beautiful. To me, this song is about losing someone. It could be to death, or in a relationship. "Now we're watching the sunset, sunset, sunset over the beaches" ^ Sunset = end of a day. So it's like closing a chapter of your life. To me, anyway :) |

| The Whitlams – No Aphrodisiac Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
And I quote, from thewhitlams.com ... "Written by Tim Freedman with his friends from Machine Gun Fellatio ('Isaac & Fuzz'), it starts out as a sentimental lament of love at a distance. But loneliness means falling back on oneself - not always a pretty sight. His exhortations regress into unfettered depravity, resembling the lonely hearts classifieds of Picture Magazine. The velvety strings at the head are gradually swallowed by a wall of guitar, just as, in the lyric, sweet solitude becomes the fuel for carnality. " Gorgeous song. I love it. <3 |
