I know the writer of the song may have had different meaning when he wrote this, but everyone may have a different interpretation. To me, this song sounds like telling someone to leave all thoughts and reminders of a past relationship and start over. Spring is often metaphored as a starting over/new period for many people or cleaning out clutter. I guess it's the last 3 lines that give the rest of the song a twist and can think of it as a friend motivating a friend caught up on relationship:
My friend.
It's time that you began again
You can leave it all behind. |

Yes this can be meant through any time of ones life, but using high school is a good metaphore because that's when a lot of kids feel bullied and like they don't fit in. It can help kids relate, but everyone else can relate too. |

I think he's saying:
You don't have to have the "in" clothes or be part of the "popular" kids...just be yourself . Don't worry about what everyone else is doing because high school doesn't mean anything in the real world. Do what you want to do. Be who you want to be. And, ignore the people who might try and make it shit for you, they are nothing when it comes down to it if all they have is the "in" clothes, etc. Be true to yourself. |

Cursive is way better than any of these shitty bands that all sound the same. ever since blink 182 almost every single band on mtv sucks major balls, jesus christ guys, grow some balls and listen to other music. people now-a-days just listen to any music that has some whiny ass singer that talks about his ho girlfriend and how sad he is that she broke up with him in fucking high school. i bet all of these guys got stuffed in their lockers and dumped in trash cans in high school anyways so you guys might as well stop listening to these cock rockers.

Learn to play the violin and tell me it's a pussy instrument. I played viola (very similar, one string difference) for 8 years..and trust me, it takes a lot of skill and practice to get good. That's not pussy at all. |

Outstanding song. It makes you just want to relax and stop being in such a rush with everything...or it will drive you madd. Definitly an addictive song, I must agree! The first time I heard it I thought it was ok, but by the second time and every other time after...I loved this song. |

If I was only allowed to have one song playing in the background of my life forever....this would be the song. I can't seem to ever get sick of it. It every essence it's truly perfect. It may be a cover, but it is performed in the most extrodinary way ever...Chino's voice has the ability to make melt instantly (especially in this song)...not many singers can do that to me. |

This is a sexy song. It can be looked at in a couple ways...it can be a super intense love song (for those who have been deep deep deep in love know) or some might see it as stalking.....either way (not to say there aren't more ways of interpreting it)...this song is amazing. |
