This song reminds me of every friend I've lost throughout my lifetime, one to cancer at 16, some to suicide, some to car wrecks, and some from being shot. I love the song, but it tears me up every time I hear it. |

Well I remember this song from when I was a kid...this is a Barry Manilow remake. This version is MUCH better in my mind, but I do recall liking the original version too. I'm wanting to say Elton John also did a version of it, and I know that the Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies also did a version. God only knows who else has done this cover, but it's a timeless tune that lives on through the years. Of course...now I feel old since no one else here seemed to know much about this song....I'm showing my age again.... |
