| Bright Eyes – I've Been Eating (For You) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I don't know why, but I loved Conor's comment on this song in the cover of the noise floor cd: "probably the meanest song I ever wrote." | |
| Bright Eyes – If the Brakeman Turns My Way Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song. Especially the line 'I tried to pass for nothing, but my dreams gave me away." I love the whole album but this song really stands out. | |
| Yellowcard – Dear Bobbie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is one of the most romantic and beautiful songs I know. Everything about it is just perfect. I hope that wherever I am in sixty or seventy years that I can look back and feel as contented as he sounds. | |
| Sandi Thom – I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this song is ridiculous from the very beginning. apart from the obvious fact that punk rockers usually wear mohawks, not flowers, on their heads, here's some other words of non-wisdom spouted in this song: "when head of state didn't play guitar" - um... is george bush a rockstar in his spare time or something? "not everybody drove a car" - but it sure makes it easier to get places, hey, sandi? "when music really mattered" if music really mattered, sandi wouldn't sell any records. (those drums in this song are just so annoying.) "when accountants didn't have control" - money made the world go round then too. it was just less obvious. but it is naive to believe this line. "we didn't know everything"- this pseudo-philosophical statement is ridiculous. we still don't know everything and it is ridiculous to suggest computers could ever let us. "god save the queen, she turned a whiter shade of pale" - just... WHAT? "the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail" - um, it's called A PHONE. they had them in WORLD WAR ONE. and before. "when record shops were still on top, and vinyl was all that they stocked." are CDs a symbol of commercialism or something? they are just another way of buying music. and she would sell a lot less singles if record shops were still like they used to be, i'm guessing. "footballers still had long hair." um... anyone seen the argentinians recently? |

| Audioslave – Light My Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is one of the best prayer songs ever... its title is very simple for a song of this nature but the way in which it is done is so different from all songs of this genre. and it works well for it. | |
| Silverchair – Ana's Song (Open Fire) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"i love you to the bones..." what a powerful line. so beautiful, and yet so tragic... but i think it really shows the love/hate relationship that all sufferers of eating disorders experience. i'm not a huge silverchair listener (although i don't mind them) but this song really is exceptional. |
|
| Cannibal Corpse – Necropedophile Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| hahaha lyrics like this really make me laugh... i mean come on you can't get much more pretentious. i think they're just trying to shock people into noticing them... sort of like a lot of their listeners i guess. ever heard of proper metal? like with something of a melody and maybe even words that make sense? *cough* opeth *cough* | |
| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Where the Wild Roses Grow (feat. Kylie Minogue) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this song is gorgeous... only nick cave can make music that is this haunting and gothic and poetic. it reminds me a lot of the poem 'porphyria's lover'. it's hard to believe that this could be kylie minogue but the combination actually works awesomely and the song is perfect |

| The Living End – Wake Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
agreed... this is one of their best songs ever, from the best live band ever! theyre on in sydney on friday again, which should be fantastic (as usual). i agree, Loose Tongue, i hate john howard as well - but please argue something that makes sense ('selling our energies to porn, selling our bodies just to survive' - uh... ok) and what exactly do you have against international students? with the funding cuts to universities they are forced to attract overseas students because, like you said, they pay... |

| Bright Eyes – Road to Joy Lyrics | 20 years ago |

To Jvenrick, Yes, that does seem a bit on the elitist side. For your information, I am not, as you say, a 'teenybopper.' I was simply using something you may not have heard of, called 'internet slang', whereby the user (who can, believe it or not, spell whatever) is allowed to make shortcuts with grammar or spelling. Judging by your atrocious spelling, I think you're probably as much of an intellect as I am a teenybopper. I do not intend to fuck up this band for you but in return perhaps you and your snobby elitist attitudes should not fuck up the band for others either. |

| Bright Eyes – Road to Joy Lyrics | 20 years ago |

man, how im sick of green day fans. anyway the album im wide awake, its morning has to be the best bright eyes album so far. in my humble opinion. i love the line in this song, 'i could have been a famous singer, if i had someone else's voice.' some people don't like his voice, for wateva reason... but i think its amazing, because its different. hopefully bright eyes will come back to australia sometime. they were here a month ago, when i was overseas! life is unfair. |

| Pantera – Cemetery Gates Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| the music world has lost a true genius with the death of dimebag. he was surely one of the best metal guitarists there was. | |
