It sounds like someone feels all romantical about someone, but they feel too frightened to do anything about it. They feel that if they could overcome their fear then the other person would be theirs and the world would be turned upside down. When he says "accordingly" he's making a comparison between the daunting task of getting over his fear ("what if I would trust/had no doubt" and "if I took her now") and the reward ("i could take you now", here businessmen/cops/statesmen/lawyers in perhaps dry roles start doing beautiful things, the world is turned on it's head and becomes more beautiful). |

| "The Royal We" is a term that a king or person in power could use to me "God and I", or alternatively, "me and my people". In some cases it could refer to the unquestionable power a king had, with the assumption that God would always back him up. | |

There's a lot of good points already made, so I'm just going to offer a very down-to-earth portion. The first part is a reflection on how inseparable all living beings are. We know that putting an animal in a cage is not really good for it in many ways (like in a zoo), but how often do we think about how the act of caging an animal also affects the 'spectators' as individuals and also society as a whole. Just the fact that we are willing to compromise an animal's freedom for our entertainment not only steals the life away from that animal, but it also hurts the rest of us as well. You can use that as a comparison to many facets of modern life. It is a way of describing karma, the golden rule, or whatever you choose to call that concept... that whatever you put into the world is what you get back from it. If you go through life cheating the world, even if nobody specifically cheats you back, you have already cheated yourself in the process. |
