CocoRosie – K-Hole Lyrics 15 years ago
I, like Panthrop, have sniffed more than my fair share of ketamine, and have k-holed more than a couple times. The drug puts you in a false state of reality where nobody can do any wrong and it feels as if the world itself is almost in a state of perfection. There's something about the beat of this song and the soothing tone of the singer's voice that is very relaxing. I'm not sure if the song is giving me flashbacks to how peaceful those times were, or if this song really is just that peaceful. Either way, it gives a good idea of the experience.

qwepoi gave a great description of the drug. This song very closely portrays the kind of things that a k-hole can induce, along with giving a sense of feeling what they mean. I see the second verse as describing the sentimental feelings induced by ketamine (Mozart's Requiem will play on tiny speakers made of clay; tell my mother that I love her). The third shows the visuals incorporated with it (Charming monkey saunter swagger; Mexican pony fucked up shoes). And the fourth sort of demonstrates the naivety and personal feelings (Your hot kiss in mid December; what's God's name, I can't remember; through the crack eye lovely weather).

Weird Al Yankovic – Truck Drivin' Song Lyrics 16 years ago
LBDamned - That's kinda what happened to me, too. I had it on a mix CD; never listened to it before, and it happened to come on tonight. I was driving, jammin' to it when I heard the line "I don't mind when my crotchless panties creep right up on me" and busted out laughing. Had to replay it and pay more attention!

Citizen Cope – Pablo Picasso Lyrics 16 years ago
This is what I really like about this site. When I first heard the song, my initial thought was about a crazy homeless man and a billboard, and while I still think that, what Noodlesy123 said about pot (and especially how thoroughly he described it) really makes a lot of sense. It's amazing how there can be so many explanations for a song that all make sense, and if it weren't for this site, I don't know if I ever would've realized it.

Dave Matthews Band – Where Are You Going Lyrics 16 years ago
I think that this is the first time I have ever seen everyone agree with the meaning that one person put forth, and I'm glad that no one has argued because EternallyYours put it beautifully. All that I have to say is that it's the story of my life... haha

Atmosphere – National Disgrace Lyrics 17 years ago
The sad thing is that nowadays, this song is nothing but true. Especially going on the first piece before he starts rapping, "and anyone else who has ever utilized their 15 minutes of fame to realize their dreams of being a true jerkoff." Nobody seems to care about anything anymore besides making money. The point of life isn't to become rich, there're other ways to be successful other than just material values. Mainly just getting out there, trying to see the best in things (which, admittedly, is getting harder and harder to do), and simply having fun!

Look, ma! Another national disgrace.

Atmosphere – The Skinny Lyrics 17 years ago
It's weird how, for me at least, it's the most obscure songs that seem to hit home the hardest. The first time I heard this song, as I was listening, I knew that there had to be something more to it just because of the way that Slug does his thing. By the last time that the chorus rolled around, it finally clicked and I had to play it over again. Really makes me question some of the choices that I've made in life.

I was 16 when my mom found out that I smoked, and even though she didn't say anything I knew that she was hurt because of it, but at the same time she even told me that she wasn't going to say anything because she started when she was younger than I was. Even though she knows, now almost three years later, I'm still embarrassed to tell my parents about it, as strange as that may be.

All in all it's just a great song, Atmosphere is one of the very, very few groups that I've liked for years and years, and they just keep coming out with more great hits. Most groups would've faded out by now, but not them. They've got something special.
