Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics 21 years ago
LOL. Sorry to disappoint you all but this song was inspired originally by a rebellious yob that got up on stage during one of their concerts. Roger spat on him in detest. He felt a bit guilty later about having done that. This song tries to see the world through the eyes of people he despises - the unwashed and uneducated. It's almost sarcastic.

The Beatles – The Long and Winding Road Lyrics 21 years ago
The song is inspired by the road down the Kintyre peninsula of Scotland to Paul's home (still owns it) in Machrihanish where Paul retreated to get away from mayhem of the Beatles. The road is long but it isn't as winding as the song suggests - it's fairly straight in most places. There are actually two roads to his place - the coastal road takes a little longer to drive but the ocean views are indescribably beautiful. Definitely a bit of a nowheresville down there even today but very pretty.

The Beatles – She's Leaving Home Lyrics 21 years ago
Song is about a story Paul read in the Daily Mirror about a 17yo girl called Melanie Coe who actually ran off with a croupier but who said later the song captured her feelings well. Was only a week before the little drama ended.

Wings – Mull Of Kintyre Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is about a head of land on the end of Kintyre peninsula of Scotland. The tune was borrowed from an old Scottish melody. Paul was challenged as a bet to write a number on song with a bagpipe solo. This was it.

Paul used to live very close by in Machrihanish with Linda to get away from the Beatles hysteria. I drove there in 2002 - after reaching Machrihanish, you drive up a long one way country road through hills and grazing rams until you reach a deadend and a sign. Then you can walk down to the mull and look out onto the ocean. (Bring your raincoat)

Its very peaceful down that part of Scotland and it's an area not promoted by the Scottish Tourist Board. Was quite a powerful experience for me being there - was like being in a dreamland that existed in my childhood memories.
