I HAVE to listen to this every halloween, or I feel like something is missing. I think it has that jaunty kinda style that most all of Danny's non-lyrical compositions end up having, which makes it endlessly charming to me. I think it ended up on the soundtrack to a rodney dangerfield movie, but I think it was on the album of it's namesake first. That said I still can't wrap my brain around how one is supposed to enter someplace without their body and soul. |

I agree about the prostitution bit, it's odd though, cos I agree with Tomis's whole post. Sounds like the same thought that went through my head as I listened. I think that from the literal standpoint, it would have to be something like prostitution that would forbid her from going home again. Though I can see a religious aspect to it as well. What with her hands bleeding, and her mind reading powers. I think the mountain was that unacceptable tresspass though that she'd crossed and was shunned after that. |

Just a love song, their BEST song though. My favorite of their's anyhow. It's a shock to the guy, that he'd met someone so perfect. I figure she goes off with her friends, and they discuss him and she tells them how wonderful he is, he goes to meet her parent(s), maybe wants to ask for permission to marry her or something. But they're holding out on it, and he wants to keep get it done, before she vanishes from his life, since things like this " never happen" |

like all these terrible things happen, and he's just become almost indifferent. hit that point where he can look back and laugh on something that's happened, almost immedeatly. Be it love, danger, or hate, he can get over it. |

Losing someone he loves, or otherwise feels a bond with. Shoulda seen the signs , but he'd been so lost in the moment that it all comes as a suprise. |

this one's, like "On the Outside", only he seems bitter about his situation, and wants an escape. Yet, he also seems proud of what he has, it's like he is also looking for validation. All "Check me out, I am normal, and all set to become a /normal/ member of society!". |

I just like the song... Prolly like more songs from them, but this one is tops. To me it's always been like the relationship happening... I once told someone that it was like someone who is SO very much in love with this girl, and like... thinks the absolute WORLD of her, but she just doesn't even know he exists. Like as though he could dissapear the next day, and she'd not bat an eyelash, yet if she'd dissapear, his life would end. figuratively. |

Love song, this one. loves (her) like (she) is right now, and maybe , at this point is tired of hearing the questions of validation. DO I look fat, am I pretty, do you love me, where is this relationship going? yet he is content to be where he is, and doesn't want the rest of the world's idea of how they should be. |

Sounds more like a commentary on religious types in general, A love-Hate relationship of sorts. Hates them for how blind, and stupid, and well how much like mindless 'droids they tend to be, and how they can be so critical of everyone else, and yet envies that whole sense of belonging, of faith that the next day will bring happiness, that blind sense of hope, and that belief that in the end they believe what they are doing is right, makes him want to open them up and see what makes them tick. |
