| Jamies Elsewhere – Seasons Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The entire album has a theme that the narrator has committed wrong Seasons - "Get back to the center, where it all began" They Said a Storm Was Coming - "But it seems that I have sank, because of my past actions and mistakes that I have made" Giants among Common Men - "Why did you have to leave me to fend for myself? Am I such a terrible man? Am I such a terrible, terrible man? I am such a terrible man! Such a violent and hostile man!" Wolves - "Oh how I've wronged you, my love. It's come to another night filled with cold sweats, lucid dreams in restless sleep. And, woe is me! Woe is me, for I've defanged the only wolves that were ever on my side." Antithesis - "This place is all too familiar! So sudden, I find myself returning to the origin, the event that started it all." I have a feeling that this is a Christian band and that the narrator feels he has wronged God but this could also apply to a person he knows. After the narrator commits wrong, he abandons/disowns everyone he knows and leaves his home in search of his own answers. This song is about the narrator slipping into a deep deep depression. He hopes that everyone he has abandoned can see "through the changing of the seasons," or through his depression. He hopes they will realize that he will eventually return to normal. The narrator swears to God that he will rise to see the sun again (another possible reference to God) and have life restored back to himself. With this being said, many of the other songs in this album have this theme of restoration of oneself. Seasons - "As God as my witness I will survive to see the sun again. And, wait for its light to bring its life back to my limbs." They Said a Storm Was Coming - "I will ascend from the bottom to be born again." One Foot in the Grave - "How long must I wait, til I'm at peace again? And how long must I wait, til I am whole again? Oh, how long must I wait, til I'm at peace again? The Lighthouse - "I'd love nothing more than to pull up my roots and replant myself in much richer grounds. Shed the dead limbs and re-grow new." Everyone has their right to their own interpretation and this is what I see this song as |

| Misery Signals – Ebb and Flow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| the speaker uses sleep as a medium in which to see someone in which he needs desperately, the song is summed up well in the last stanza which describes the speaker's relationship with this person in his dreams | |
| Misery Signals – Nothing Lyrics | 17 years ago |

the speaker of the song burnt a bridge between himself and another (possibly a girl) in which is has an "undying devotion for" because of this he destroyed himself. despite this devotion when he sees the other's world fall apart it invigorates him but he would do anything to be able to start again or to return to nothing. he shows remorse at the end of the song by questioning what he has become. this is a very vague meaning that could be applied to many situations, an amazing song |

| The Devil Wears Prada – This Song Is Called Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I don't see what "Her teeth (show) like white seeds in a scarlet fruit" has to do with Adam and Eve, or any of this song for that matter, but everyone has the right to their own opinion. I believe that line is saying whoever the subject of this song is (a beautiful woman) has perfectly white teeth that show like white seeds in the reddest (scarlet) of fruit. I'm not too sure what the rest of the song means but if you look at the context of that quote in "The Picture of Dorian Gray" it deals with the death of someone in the novel, I haven't read the book recently enough to remember though |

| Mudvayne – Mercy, Severity Lyrics | 21 years ago |

First of all, the title of this song has a lot to do with the Tree of Life, found in the Kabbalah. The tree of life is intwined in many of Mudvayne's songs, including many on LD50. Mercy and Severity are 2 of the 3 pillars of the tree of life. The pillar of mercy containts the sefira of Chesed, which is Mercy and the pillar of severity contains the sefira of geburah. For more information on the tree of life google it, there are volumes upon volumes of it. Now for the song. I agree with gabelogan that the song is about creation, it is about REcreation. " Mine the souls From their casts Pour form and reshape," may be proof of this. It is saying to mine the souls from their casts (mold, forms, plaster, metal, then to melt it down, pour it into a new mold, therefor reshaping. This in turn also has a connection to Mudvayne's song Solve Et Coagula, Latin for Dissolve and soldify, interesting, no? The Yin part is pretty hard to explain.. There are many analogies to the 3 pillars (severity, equilibrium and mercy in that order) Toaist concepts of this include Yin, toa and yang Christian concepts include The Holy Spirit, Father and son Aspects of Goddess (Crone, Mother, Maiden) So saying the eye of Yin's severity is like saying your holy spirit or something of that sort. This is just all my opinion and what I have gathered from doing loads of research on Mudvayne songs |
