You are correct; there is a wrestler named Sid Vicious (I had no idea). However, he didn't become famous until years after Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols died. BTW, there is also a wrestler named Kid Vicious. And I agree that she has more in common with a wrestler than with a punk rocker. |

Goomba, you're confusing Sid Vicious with Kid Vicious. Sid Vicious was a member of the Sex Pistols. It doesn't make sense for her to compare herself to either one though. I really wish she had actually said Kid Vicious instead. That would have been so funny :) |

My dad told me this: when he was in high school, girls would put vaseline on their faces before a fight to protect them if they get scratched. I never saw girls do that when I was in high school, so I thought that was pretty funny. |

Isn't there another Carebear's theme song? I remember some of the lyrics:

That's all I can remember. |

Yeah. I guess it was before your time. It used to come on Disney in the 80s. Jennifer Love Hewitt was in it. I have no idea what the premise for the show was (they worked in a restaraunt or something??) but they would sing all throughout the show. I used to love crap like that when I was a kid. Just about every show in the 80s had corny singing at some point in every episode. The 80s were embarrassing, but fun. |

Wow! The lead singer does sound a little like Jamiroquai. I never noticed. Maybe that's why I love his voice so much. Maroon 5's doesn't sound like his though, very different style IMO. |

Cool song. I love Daria. High school wouldn't have been the same without her.
I agree with politicalscratch-- MTV really does suck hard now. They forgot what it stood for (Hint: M is for Music). Someone should make a really catchy pop song about how the channel has been shot to hell and see if it makes it to TRL (Hey, that rhymed :)) |

I guess the song could be about communism, but I didn't bother reading unseensouls dissertation because my eyes hurt. Reading the lyrics makes me assume the song is sexual, but then hangman11 reminded me of the ninjas in the video. What's that about?
Also, something I've never bothered looking up, but is it intentional that the initials of the band are POT USA?
Oh yeah, what does "Some suckin' bulgers in the shade" mean? |

I tried to read through most of the shit on this page but it's waaaaaay too much. Damn. I think everyone should think of an artist that they know a lot of people hate and read all the post for the lyrics to that song. It is so entertaining.
In the true spirit of this website-- this song is about a stuck up girl who turned down a guy because he was a skater or whatever and then he got famous and now Avril is dating him and she hopes the girl is kicking herself in the forehead now.
To Nikkie/NlCOLE: damn girl, get a mothafuckin grip. Turning 20 really went to your head, huh? You are no more mature than the teenagers who keep saying they hate Avril because you keep saying the same shit over and over again-- on more than one Avril page! Is she paying your fucking bills or something? My goodness. Wisdom does not always come with age. |

| Nelly – Hot in Herre Lyrics

Wow. The opinions out here are just crazy. I personally hate this song, Nelly and most of the "Club Bangers" that all sound the same and aren't about anything. I however strongly disagree that rap isn't music. Every genre has a handful of songs/singers that are garbage, but there are some rappers out there who have talent and actually have worthwhile things to say. But not everyone listens to music for enlightenment and intellectual stimulation; some people need something light because it is entertaining. If musicians want to sing/rap about fucking a lot of girls or spending money (worst subject ever), unneccessary violence, or whatever, then they should be entitled to it. I don't believe they should get paid as much as they do and I wish people would not worship these people (or any artist for that matter-- they're just people) and would stop buying the crap so they would be discouraged to continue their career, but that's only my opinion. My mother always told me that opinions are like assholes-- everybody's got one. |

I think this song is about her growing up biracial and always feeling like she had no one to relate to. |

And how in the hell am I supposed to know that that was sarcasm??? It came across as sheer ignorance to me. There probably really are people who have no idea who KRS-ONE is or a lot of other famous people whose music does not appeal to them. I just assumed you were one of them. I can see now how I come across as ignorant because I doubt now that KRS-TWO and THREE exists, but I honestly thought that was something I had never heard of. Also, there's a person who wrote something earlier about thinking it was a radio station. Or was that sarcasm too?? |

I am so suprised that this song hadn't been posted yet. This is my favorite song on the Makaveli(sp?) CD.
This song is one of the main reasons I believe Tupac is the greatest rapper. This song is his take on religion and his opinion of the hypocricy in society concerning religion and how he will probably be called a blasphemist because he is telling it how he sees it.
Oh Tupac, I wish you were still here today. Damn. |

What the hell is KRS-TWO and KRS-THREE????? It amazes me that some people don't know who KRS-ONE is. They just did a tribute to him on VH1 on the hip hop awards or whatever it was called. I was never an avid fan, but I know who he is and I grew up listening to him.
To me this song is about how KRS-ONE exposed the members of Sublime to hip-hop culture and they're thanking him for that. |

I love this song and I wish a lot of people I know would listen to this song. This reminds me of an ex. I didn't know him for too long, but I just worried about where his life was going and what he was doing to his family. So sad.
I always misunderstood the lyric "work ain't honest but it pays the bills." I always thought she meant work in general isn't honest, but she means his work specifically (hustling, drug dealing, whatever). I always thought she was talking about blue collar work and she meant it's not honest because he works hard and has nothing to show for it. You can tell I didn't really pay attention to this song at first! I feel like a dummy because the song is really straight forward when I look at it now. |

This song reminds me of summer during middle school. Me and my friends stood around in our bathing suits singing with the video and dancing along. I love Left Eye's part and I hate when the radio cuts it off. It's the best part of the song!!
I really love TLC because of the things they write about. They write about friends, love, society, being a woman.
Songs about people trying to live life in the fast lane always touches me because I see it too often and I wish I could reach these people.

How could no one comment on this song??? La la la la la la. I love this song soooo much. Everytime I hear it, I have to start it over and listen to it at least one more time. To me, this is one of his best songs. The man's a genious!
My favorite line is "Maybe someday I'll share your little distant cloud." It sounds like he is in love with a woman who is lost in her own world and is completely oblivious to her surroundings and the fact that he watches her with loving eyes. It's so sweet because some people just don't realize how much they can mean to someone. |

I've heard this song a million times and I actually listened to it for the first time about a year ago and realized what this song is about. It's about setting up your enemies by sending a woman to seduce them then kill them. Kinda interesting. This is the stuff mob movies are made of.
"for R.D., we chef shit" sounds more like "Boyardee, we chef shit" I know it sounds silly, but that what it sounds like they said. |
