| Nine Inch Nails – The Only Time Lyrics | 21 years ago |

To me, this is along the same lines as Last. I made a comment in Last explaining what I think in a pretty detailed manner. But the character is sustained through carnality. Has anyone heard the Godbox cover? Wow. This song with a slow melodic fluidic feel and soft, female vocals, is soooo freaking seductive. |

| I get the same massive army images. However it's foggy and shadowy... the army is a huge mass of vaguely human forms. | |

| Nine Inch Nails – Somewhat Damaged Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I always scream along with Trent. I've been to that place before, and it really, captures a lot of what I felt for a long time. Even the title has merit - "somewhat damaged" it applies 100%. I am still coping with probably permanent emotional damage from the time in my life this describes; I'm damaged. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Terrible Lie Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this is about dissilusionment. Particularly that surrounding the loss of faith. However, he still wants to cling to the hope it provides. Essentially, thats weak I think. But we all have our own systems of hope and beleif. I have spent my entire life just waiting around for something worth waiting for. I lost my faith a long time ago. But it's a necessary evil, I think, for some people. | |

| Nine Inch Nails – Deep Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I liked the video for Deep. It really had nothing to do with anything, but Trent's coat rocks my world, and the video is a compelling peice of whatever it is. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Where Is Everybody? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| So far, I think everyone who has posted above is right on a level. This is one of my favorite songs, and as good as the version on The Fragile is, the Halo 16 version of this is amazing. Almost all of Halo 16 as the distinct essence of some kind of... like digital water. | |

Druggies make me sick. You can fanatically argue all your want how I'm wrong, and shouldn't listen to Nine Inch Nails, but you don't have any credibility. This, like so much else Trent does is about taking a fall, and decaying away ever so much more to emotional damage. This particular song is about filling that void with hatred, and anger, because thats all you can fall back on; building barriers, and distancing yourself despite the pain it causes. I have glazed over some parts, in favor of the more important parts of my theory but this is the basic break-down: "the first days of my last days" describes the begining +++ "climbed up real high now fall down real far" that obviously describes the fall. +++ "i put my faith in god and my trust in you now there's nothing more fucked up i could do wish there was something real wish there was something true wish there was something real in this world full of you" that is the embitterment, and the rage, and the hatred, manifesting and worsening. +++ "i'm the one without a soul i'm the one with this big fucking hole no new tale to tell twenty-six years on my way to hell gotta listen to your big time hard line bad luck fist fuck don't think you're having all the fun you know me i hate everyone" that describes the seething anger shifting into self-loathing; an effect of the whole process. +++ "i want to but i can't turn back" thats pretty self explanitory. My wish is to incite discussion. I don't give a shit if you disagree and think I'm stupid or something. But if you have constructive discussion to offer - either building it up or taking it down, go for it. If not, I am going to ignore you, and you will waste your time. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Last Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think it's about losing yourself, and desperately clawing up to recover from a frenetically paced downward spiral. Thats the more general theme. Specifically this song is about attempting to sustain yourself through carnality when you have lost so much. This song, as a special place in my heart, so to speak. I've been exactly where it describes. |

I am not sure about this song. I completely disagree with any of the notions about it being about a drug, and no small reason being the idiocy some of the comments that insist it's about a drug reflect. In the very least spell your words people. jesus christ. While you're at it how about you throw in some coherent grammar, and spelling, eh? it's not that hard, most words are phonetic. But like Trent implied, it's possible it doesn't have a meaning, it just came to him. The video is amazing. It's got a wonderful victorian gothic-romantic feel to it. Apparently the video imagerey was inspired by the work of Edward Gorey. |

| Nine Inch Nails – 10 Miles High Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
You are an idiot, egb. As a matter of fact Trent isn't into drugs; he tells the story in a few interviews of how he tried some of the hard ones once, found it was over-rated, and renounced them. Apparently, Trent lacks the weakness necessary to enjoy drugs. My opinion on the song is in absolute concurence with MeshBlorg, above. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Gave Up Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I, like carrera am curious about the line: "covered in hope and vaseline" I really could give a shit about any implications having to do with homosexuality. I don't understand why that concept trips people up so much, but I guess the idiots are like mollases. Anyway, that line seems to be the only line that doesn't have an obvious meaning once you think a little bit about it. |
