i believe this song means that there are two people [adam and anna.. even if it's not really adam.. whatever.] that are together, but something is changed, something is different, something isn't fitting the way it used to. he wants to love her, he wants to love her so badly that even when she sneezes he believes it's love.. but he's still apprehensive about whether it's for real or not. he has to wrap her up in a package of lies because he's not only lying to her, he's lying to himself because he wants things to get better even if he knows it's impossible. he's waiting for her approval, but it never comes, and she fades away and disappears from his life and he finally admits that he isn't ready for this sort of thing - love. |

i didn't start liking the beatles BECAUSE of i am sam but.. i know the rufus wainright cover of across the universe used in i am sam is amazing, but ya.. it's definitely sung by john. within you without you sounds more.. indian than across teh universe, plus you can hear john talking and laughing at the beginning of the song across the universe. he also states that it was one of the worst recordings he's ever done, but he loves the lyrics he wrote. thus, john sang and wrote 'across the universe'. |
