this must be one of the best songs ever as far as wanting to pick up a guitar is concerned solos, etc. Angus soloing on this song really lets rip. |

This is almost a ballad... But it still rocks, those guys just bring a special quality to their music somehow, & it's impossible to put your finger on precisely what makes them extra special compared to other bands of the genre. |

Wrong singer mate. It is Brian who rings this on Stiff Upper Lip album. Excellent song, with an excellent vocal performance from Brian. This style of song really suits his voice in a big way. I can't think of any other singer who could pull this song off so effectively. One of their best. |

I Just want to clear something up once and for all.
The so called version of Back In Black with Bon singing is definitely not Bon or the real AC/DC for that matter. It don’t sound true enough to Bon’s voice for me, and the band don’t seem to be matching AC/DC’s playing style at all… Remember everyone can copy a riff or solo or sound setup but everyone is unique in some way or shape or form as to how they sound when playing guitar at this level. It is definitely somebody covering the track and claiming it to be Bon. Also the lyrics for all songs on the Back In Black album were written by Brian Johnson.
So how could Bon be able to sing the song lyrics for Back In Black if the song didn't exist when he was alive.
Bon Scott had written quite a lot of lyrics for the follow up to Highway To Hell before he died... And a large majority of the music, riffs, etc had been written but Bon died and so all lyrics which he had written were not released and were sent as a personal item to his mother, who as far as I am aware still has them under lock and key to this day. |

I wouldn`t say it is a best song overall. Its bloody damn good, & definitely as far as Bon was concerned one of his best singing performances throughout his career with regard to hitting the right notes on a song which made it appeal to hard-core fans as well as mainstream radio, whether this was the intention or not I dunno. I feel that it just came out like this when they recorded it & whereas AC/DC want to please themselves & the fans, Mutt-Lange was looking for commercial success, so it kinda struck the happy balance for the Highway To Hell album which made both the band & producer happy, coz AC/DC have never for themselves tried or wanted to be a commercial singles band. Funnily enough I think this album turned out to be one of Mutt`s first big commercial successes, considering the album as a whole is not a stereotypical commercial offering. It rocks & rocks hard, but it pricked many more people`s ears up to the fact that there is a band called AC/DC and that they have kick-ass songs which are addictive to the ears, & rock their heart out, and you wanna buy more & hear more, etc |

You can`t suck a ball when it`s a ballroom dance, or party, it`s a double meaning right until the end of the song, then AC/DC tell us all what they were really singing about when they start the Ball Sucker at the end. |

I agree with Keith Angus Page, but it also gets me to thinking that the inertia of Bon`s life at the time, i.e. touring, etc, being on the road, was kinda making it hard for him to settle in a normal life. i.e. playing in the band, had + points in his life, but it could also be a silent nightmare, the things the fans never see, rock & roll excess, drink, women etc, was his way of putting a front on his loneliness as a person, he was longing for a time when he had more money, and less touring to do, so he could find a true love in his life (woman) and settle down with someone who would love him for who he was & not just coz he was Bon Scott the frontman of the hard rock band AC/DC, & get rid of his bad habits of drinking to excess, & breaking girls hearts coz his life on the road prevented his promises staying true, even though he may have wanted them to be. It is a sad song, because we all know that unfortunately he never reached that peak until after he died, & so his dreams never were fulfilled. If there is an after-life then I`m quite sure Bon would have thought of this song, and be remorseful that he had to leave this world, without fulfilling these wishes, which many of us easily take for granted in our lives. |
