I love this song. Morisson hotel was my first Doors CD, I got it last year, when I was twelve, and I loved it. Ray and Robby found some of Jim's poetry, and mixed two together, and taht's what the song is. One was called 'abortion stories' and the other is the 'she came, think about the break of day, She came and then she drove away Sunlight in her hair' part'. And mixed in there: The first verse is about the democratic convention of 1968, because of the riots and such. Then, the New Haven part is because he got arrested once while in New Haven. |

I love this. and I was going to say what Philadelphia eagles said. The verse that Jim wrote sounds so much more intelligent and fluent than the one that Robby wrote. Great guitar and keyboard from Kreiger and Manzarek. I still find it stupid that people tried to make Jim change the 'girl we couldn't get much hier' verse for a performance, but of course, Jim sang it the same old way. |

You're sixteen? I'm thirteen. Robby Kreiger wrote this song about his relationship, and Jim did dislike this song, though this has been said. Jim's real songs are not as happy and loud, though I do love this song. I even have it playing on my xanga.
PB1, read a biography of Jim Morrison. Nobody here gets out alive and Jim Morrison are both very good. That may answer some questions for you. |

Actually.... Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist in the doors had old records of German showtunes, so they found this song and used it. I might have interpreted this wrong though, but oh well. |
