"irish blood, english heart" is a similar song about how he is conflicted between love of his country and the awful policies of its government. oh, and maybe he wrote it because we're at war! yknow cos some people are against sensless killing. just a thought!

i agreed completely with gentledog's first comment. i really dont think it has to be limited to homosexuality and i dont even care if it was written with it in mind (although Big T had a point about it being written by a different guy, so it might not even be about being gay at all) my point is i see it as a comment on lust and how people try to ignore signifigance by just having lots of sex.

could be the stability thing, or it could be that people are like weeds, always trying to block out other's light and gain control... the rock in this case would represent an obstical (in other words, i want power, your in my way). the weeds could also be like the thing about the words crowded the air... people keep getting born and merely taking up room, hence life like weeds

I disagree with a lot of you. I think letitbreakthrough made a pretty solid interpretation. I think he's saying that everything has to end and that the bury me with it part is being ironic. what good are those material objects once you die? i like the line "we were aiming for the moon and shooting for the stars, but the kids were just shooting at the buses and the cars" i think this represents the good intentions of some manipulated into just an excuse to wreak havoc. like the whole anarchy thing. and also the rock n roll part is extension of the "everything has its end" idea and relates to the other thing

ok i just wanna start out by saying i didnt bother to read every single comment so i might just be repeating someone... if so sorry. anyways i agree this is a creepy song. it is pretty clearly about nuclear war although its open to interpretation... "moving down the road towards tiny cities made of ashes" refers to moving towards nuclear destruction. the coca cola and spa parts suggest to me that we are distracted by commercial luxuries so we ignore this.. also i noticed that issac chose to say "a body" instead of "somebody" which is srta creepy to me... but hey thats just me... i never thought about the glasses thing that way tho, i like that interpretation.
