Actually, it's not ignorant to call rap "not music." Rap is music that became so over-commercialized (catchy) that it ceased to be music at all. It's somewhat similar to music, but it's somewhere between (really lousy) music and (really lousy (rappers rap about themselves more than anything else in the universe... this practice is uncreative and egotistical...)) poetry, but it's an extreme dumbing down of both.
Notice that Ben's just saying catch phrases and "shout outs" over and over... just like real rappers do. |

I don't see the link to Jung. There could definitely be one, though. Sting's a well-read guy.
I love this song, by the way. The instrumetation isn't whiny, and Sting's voice isn't, either, but the words carry a lot of weight. |
