I think this song is about Kurt. after Kurt died he said "what have we done with innocence ?" a lot of people were suffering and ( mostly fans and family, not including "the slut" ( Courtney ), because they created a shield of comfort to people that had no dreams, and no nothing. they build up a army of people who believed in what they believed and everything changed, after Kurt’s death, a lot of people committed suicide because that. and him not being a monkey wrench means that he's not going to be a tool of nirvana, to me that means that he's no longer going to carry all the pain, and responsibilities that Kurt left to him and krist when he died. this is just what i think...

I think this song represents all the things he was going through after Kurt died. Once he did this song he was willing to let people know how he was feeling about that. it took him some time to make a song like this so.. personal. i think that anyone who was friends with kurt cobain, had so many things going trough their head, but instead Dave decided to write it in a song... i love this song... and i give him respect for the fact that he recognize that thanks to kurt he did a lot of great things...

ok to all the people who say that this song is the best that they did well let me tell you guys that you're wrong, in my opinion i think that nirvana did a lot of more songs that are better than this one, i mean don't get me wrong i'm not saying that this song's bad but everyone bases the in the firts one hit wonder, i mean i know this is a good song but not the best, and people just say that this is their favorite song because they don't know any others i mean have you guys heard the rare songs i mean i know that the people who really like nirvana have, but not the other people i mean come on, people always do what other people do , plz get a life and don't only like music for how much famous they are.
