I know this song is about a relationship gone bad...but I see it in a different light. "So ill find what lies beneath your sick twisted smile" This line...reminds me of me and my boyfriend (we are in a great relationship!) but...hes smart, mysterious and kind. He skipped two grades, graduated at the age of 16, and will graduate a 4 year college at the age of 20...his skills in computers and math are AMAZING..and i dont understand how his brain works! He has tried to explain to me how things work...how these huge math problems he works on are beautiful and full of life cause we use them everyday to live and I just dont understand it all..so he smiles back at me with this kind, but twisted smile..like he knows he has a whole different world opened up to him. So he looks back at me,confused at how i dont understand, while Im staring into his eyes, and we hug...whilst I think I will never understand what hes trying to tell me. ("as i lie underneath your cold jaded eyes") "Now you turn the tide on me, cause your so unkind...I will always be here for the rest of my life" Sometimes he gets frustrated at me because I dont understand him most of the time, and goes into this kindof..angry speech at me to try to get me to understand..but then realizes I cant think the same and ends up stopping, and telling me he loves me =) The rest of the lyrics dont really make sense, but they are powerful and from the heart..which makes this song even more amazing than what the small portion of it means to me. Ben is an amazing lyricist... he is my hero! All of the bands songs are powerful and amazing, and seeing their passion for their music live on stage really lets you understand how they are, what they feel, and how much fun they have doing what they are doing! I totally recommend seeing them live, its a good show and a GREAT time! |

| I loooooooooove this song! I love the video for it too...and if you watch it...it looks like a drug trip...so I agree with the others that its about the problems in life, and you just want to escape to the other side of reality...which is always better cause its something we know subconsciously...and it feels right to be there, to know it. "How long how long will i slide"...how long is he going to have to go back and forth from reality and the alternate reality...."I separate my side"...he escapes to the other side of him...."i dont, I dont believe its bad"....he doesnt believe its bad because its not, its opening up doors to different ways, thoughts, feelings to make him feel better..."slitting my throat is all i ever had"....thats the only thing he could think of before going to the otherside...."Centuries are what it meant to me"...when your tripping...time goes by REALLY slow...."A cemetary where I marry the sea"...definatly sounds like tripping...."Stranger things could never change my mind, ive got to take it on the otherside"....the otherside is the only place where your going to understand things that are really weird...and wow i could go on and onnnnnnn | |

| Listening to this song is just like, amazing! I jam out to this anytime im in a super good mood...it just gets me pumped up soo much! Oh, and its "it starts eyes closed, to fingers drawst"....not fingers crossed... if you have those biiiig headphones that cover your entire ear, listen to it with that..you can soo hear its drawst! | |

| This is my favoritest song in the entire world... I was obsessed with Savage Garden like 2 years ago and I still adore them today.. I can sing this whole song without hesitation.. it just takes time to listen to it and figure out the words..then the ones u dont get.. look at the lyrics haha.. but i was determined to learn it..and I did.. alot of people are amazed that I can sing the whole thing..flawlessly! | |
