| to get this song you have to listen to the whole album from start to finish. it is one story about a man banished from his town, and comes back for his true love, melinda, who is 'taken' . listen to the whole album and this song's lyrics will make complete sense. same deal with 'my arms, your hearse' | |

i think that it is about someone who was hard on drugs, and is coming clean. 'loosing sleep, in too deep.' in doing so, relization in what he has done sets in and he becomes depressed. 'fading sun, what have i done' then he is thinking back to when he was on drugs and thought about the euphoria that he almost had achieved, but sees himself now as being empty 'came so close to what i need most, nothing left here' now hes coming to terms with it all the mistakes, lies and deceit that he has done in the past 'cut the ties, uncovered disguise, left behind all intertwined, lost control, moved out of the role, now, nothings left here' now in his physical and mental anguish he relizes that no one is to blame but himself, his wounds were all self inflicted. even after all of his friends and family advised him against doing drugs. 'Leave it be It was meant for me Soul sacrifice Forgot the advice' now he remembers when he was on drugs and he had no grig on reality, time didnt matter to him. then he accepts his fate.. 'Lost track of time In a flurry of smoke Waiting anxiety For a fair judgement deserved' But thats my interpretation/opinion.... |

totally, absolutely right.... anders' lyrics have alot of metaphors in them, but a can also see a definate connection with the religion blinding its followers. my mom is a die hard christian, one year her church's pastor/priest (whatever) got really terminally ill, they were prayin and crap and came to the insane conclusion that after he died he would come back from the dead!! of course, he didn't come back from the dead and the church found some 'higher meaning' from this by following their blind faith. so with that said, sniper, pakistaniman, definatelty right |

i agree with you to an extent perfect weapon. i think that he is on his deathbed or had a near death experience, and then realised how much the world has screwed him over. then he becomes the emotionless user who is awaiting death |
