this isn't really about losing faith, it is about getting tired of the whole run around that church brings. Fake people who feel they have top act a certain way, and the people who wear Jesus as a fashion statement to just cover up the wrong doings in thier lives. And most importantly it asks the question is it wrong to feel unmoved by a church service, or bored with the everyday race of christianity. If Church and christianity become merely a habit or a duty as Bazan puts it then it has lost its meaning completely, everyone questions their own faith I think this is his way of doing it. I like how he points out that everything isn't always going to be smooth sailing if your a christian and it is ok to feel down about life, unlike so many other christian bands who "must" be happy because that is the christian thing to do (i am a christian but not a fan of christian music at all, well besides Pedro...yeah) |

you are not going to belive whatI found out... This song is actually historically true go to http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/treasures/trm012.html and read about what they found in his pockets. I think it has to do with when we die or are beaten the things we leave behind tell people alot about who you were and how you lived your life. Also parts that are sung under these lyrics are "Make ammends, lets make ammends" "make a man, what makes a man" so it does point out EmokidAlex's point of getting caught unexpected or getting in a fight. Walt Whitman actually wrote a poem celebrating his birth (Lincoln). Hope this helps. |
