| The War On Drugs – Arms Like Boulders Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it might be "oil" on the inside. | |
| Akron/Family – Gone Beyond Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think the last bit of the translation of the Heart Sutra is actually "...gone completely beyond, praise to enlightenment." It changes the meaning if you're saying "so be it." |

| Akron/Family – Franny/You're Human Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be the Jesus Prayer in Franny and Zooey although I'm not sure if this is technically the prayer or just an interpretation according to the book. | |
| Bright Eyes – Lime Tree Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Did anyone notice the Biblical references toward the end? "It comes to me in fragments, even those still split in two" Adam and Eve, God took Adams rib, splitting him into two, to make Eve "Under the leaves of that old lime tree I stood examining the fruit Some were ripe and some were rotten, I felt naseous with the truth" Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, giving them the truth." Just to continue the pattern, i think the "tidal wave" may have something to do with the flood in Genesis when Noah built his ark. And these lines are amazing. "Don't be so amazing or I'll miss you too much I felt something that I had never touched" This is my favorite song on the album that I hadn't already heard (No One Will Riot For Less and Four Winds). I Cassadaga needs time to grow on me. I do like the album, but I Lifted is still my favorite. Or like any other Bright Eyes album, except Digital Ash. |

| Phantom Planet – California Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This chorus to this song is so ripping off Al Jolson's song "California, Here I Come." | |
| Built to Spill – Liar Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I can't wait to hold this album in my hands. | |
| Built to Spill – Goin' Against Your Mind Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| WHO'S MIKE JONES?!?! | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – Title and Registration Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is probably one of the most amazing songs ever. I love how he shows that pretty much everything can be a reminder of someone, even something like looking for your title and registration when getting pulled over. | |
| Billy Bragg – Tank Park Salute Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Did Billy Bragg's father die in the war possibly? | |
| Ima Robot – Let's Talk Turkey Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Okay here's the deal: this song is about having feelings for a person and wanting them to just give you the chance to let you show them how you feel and how important they are to you. It seems like he's kind of giving up hope with the "losing concentration, losing motivation" bit, but maybe the sudden "are you down?" is like a one-more-try kind of thing. I guess that's about it, because I'm not too sure what the significance of the "don't stop wasting people's time" part is. It sounds good though and this is a great song. I was driving today and it gave me goosebumps, which I'd say is a good thing. | |
