| John Mayer – Belief Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
about the armor/sword part: when he says "belief is a beautiful armor", he is saying that belief is good for protection/defense. "but makes for the heaviest sword"...i would have to disagree with what a few people are saying about this line. a heavy sword is hard to wield, obviously because of its weight. you would have very little control when swinging a heavy sword. at the same time, the heavier a sword is, the more powerful and destructive it is. john is saying that using belief as an attack/offense is like wielding a heavy sword, difficult and destructive. it's "like punching underwater, you never can hit who you're trying for", meaning you have no control swinging the sword and will cause more destruction than you intended. innocent people may get hurt, etc. it's just plain impractical to use such a weapon. sorry for the longwindedness. |

| 98 Degrees – The Hardest Thing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
i personally like the chorus. my best friend is in love with another guy, but doesn't know i love her. im such a wuss. i saw her through 3 guys i know, but i fell into the friend zone. anyway, i don't want to destroy our friendship. she's had countless instances with destroyed friendships because of dating and such. therefore, this chorus is something like what i would say to her, if that time came. i don't want to risk our friendship. "it's the hardest thing i'll ever have to do; to turn around and walk away pretending i don't love you." love is a choice, not a butterfly feeling, and that's how i choose to love her. |

| Yellowcard – Everywhere (Michelle Branch cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
i disagree that this is better than michelle branches version. first of all, she wrote the song, so props to her for the lyrics/tune/etc. second, you can't compare pop and punk; that's like that whole apples and oranges deal. you CAN say that you like yellowcard's version better, but you can't say that it IS better than michelle branch's. my preference is michelle branch's. she CAN write songs, for those of you who are closed-minded to one to a few music genres. i think that this song is about being so crazy about someone that he/she is all you think about. yet, the person is so elusive and his/her feelings about you are a mystery to you. or something like that. |

| The Ataris – Blue Skies, Broken Hearts... Next 12 Exits Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"the objects in your mirror are closer than they actually appear: to me, that line means that the past to him seems like such a long time ago, but it is actually closer than it appears. i get that because rearview mirrors are used to look back, so in a figurative sense of looking back, his past isnt that far back as it seems. |

| Ben Folds Five – Battle of Who Could Care Less Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i don't think catch-22 is the correct term in describing apathy as a goal...oxymoron perhaps? catch-22 refers to an inescapable situation...like no matter what path you take, you're screwed. | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – 405 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| "i took the 405 and drilled a stake down into your center, and stated that it's never ever been better than this." ---also a sexual image, for those who did not catch it...just put your dirty mind on, and it'll come to you. | |
| Jaci Velasquez – Imagine Me Without You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| how could it not be about God when it says "Imagine me without You / LORD, You know it's just impossible." just a thought. | |
| John Mayer – Sucker Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
the meaning is pretty easily interpreted in this one. that's one thing i love about it. so simple, so fun, and so witty. somtimes i do wish i was the weather... anyway, this song is also very fun to play, and is easy once you get the hang of it. this is my favorite john mayer song, by far. |

| John Mayer – Another Kind of Green Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| brynski15, that makes more sense actually. thanks for that. i was wondering why he was making two different comparisons in one sentence. i still think the one i came up with is cool, but yours is more logical and probably what john was going for. | |
| The Ataris – Your Boyfriend Sucks Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"And I'm still here waiting there To catch you if you fall. I don't know why I care so much When I shouldn't care at all." why can't i shake her off of my mind... |
|
| Yellowcard – American't Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this song sucks...crappy, repetetive, elementary lyrics...bush haters are blind and too idealistic...that's my 2 cents. | |
| Dashboard Confessional – Hold On Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this is how i feel with my "best" friend i guess you could say. i world practically revolves around her, but sometimes i feel like im nothing to her. whenever she develops these crushes and relationships with other guys, it crushes me to be happy for her. it crushes me that i only feel important to her when i catch her when she falls. well, that was my crying...thanks for reading. | |
| Deicide – Bastard of Christ Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Darkouto, you are SUCH an idiot... anyways, i was just wondering why people bash religion. it isn't really music anymore, in my opinion. im not trying to hate on anti-religion bands and so forth, but i just don't understand it. by the way, quiffporn, just ignore him... |

| John Mayer – Another Kind of Green Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
i live the lines, "it's not the perfect hand, but i don't hit on nineteen". it alludes to poker and miniature golf. although she is not perfect (nobody is), he doesn't want to try to "hit on nineteen" (as in the 19th hole to try to win a free game), or figuratively speaking, he doesn't need to start over with a new girl. he's good where he is. awesome song... by the way, isn't this songmeanings.com? most of the comments i see is trivial things such as "this song rawks!", "i totally can relate!", or "this is my most favoritist band ever. they're awesommme!" damn boppers... |
|
| Rufio – The Wrath Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| yea, rufio is cool. but this song bores me... | |
| Rufio – We Exist Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it seems to me that this song is a bit religious...anybody? | |
| Dashboard Confessional – Screaming Infidelities Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| haha, those last 2 comments made me laugh a lot. thanks for that. anyway, i was reading some of the first several comments (i didn't want to read the rest...600+!!!), and people were debating over what the hair meant. i don't understand why people take it so literally. maybe it's just me, but the hair shedding never occurred to me until just now. it somewhat makes sense, but i think it has more to do with his memory of her hair. seeing it, smelling it, playing with it...senses that all bring back memories... | |
