I really love this song, probably my fav orbital song (to hell with chime) I wouldnt fully agree with the lyrics posted here, There's lots in here I'd change, but just the line in at the end of 2nd last verse... "lets start again and try to talk it out, that's fightin talk" And then to me it sounds like some backward vocals, i always thought it was 'thats fightin talk' backwards, but just for the pure geek of it i loaded it up and put it thru some filters to try and figure out what it says. It sounds fairly clearly like "I have no secret stuff" which would be a nice lil bit of irony to enjoy perhaps. Anyway as i said before, i really like this song - i think it's about "an affair" or maybe like the second affair, that its happened before. |

I was wondering where you people were getting "you sat along the fire" from, now i know. You're clearly confusing untitled #4 for untitled #1 Vaka... this one goes more like You sigh along, You sigh along no far long. I love hopelandic, it's a great idea :) |

| The Killers – Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I agree with Madrigal82 taking the piss out of the indie rock scene was the goal here. Also i'd like to point out that i believe musicly he's taking the piss too... I believe he's trying to squeeze in as many indie cliché's into the song both musicly and lyricly, if you listen to the MANY different styles used to build up and break down the song, it has all the elements of every indie rock n roll song in one song :) I think "talking every word for all the boys" is a reference to how he's actually singing the song at the time - meaning it's easy for all the boys to sing the words coz he's talkin them (which is very indie) It could be "making up, breaking up" which would make more sence for me in typical indie rock n roll bands style of breaking up, reforming etc. But I have to say I love the song - when he sings "It's indie rock n roll" for the first time I honestly believe I can hear the smile on his face as he sings the chorus with such "indie passion" |
