| The Ataris – The Night That The Lights Went Out In NYC Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| as far as the satellite thing, i would say that its sort of like in the movie 'October Sky' (can you really see spacecraft in the night sky?). its also interesting that they mention that because of the title of the song, being that normally you cant see much in the sky at night in New York City (or even suburbs...) because of ambient light, and its talking about the blackout in 2003. (iirc it was 03) | |
| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i like it when bands are political from the outset, and dont just say inflammatory shit to get people to buy their album, which, it so happens, isnt even close to being on par with the rest of their albums | |
| Lostprophets – Hello Again Lyrics | 21 years ago |

| Coldplay – Moses Lyrics | 21 years ago |

| U2 – A Man and a Woman Lyrics | 21 years ago |

| U2 – Miracle Drug Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
i would like to add that this is probably my favorite song on the album anyway, Bono says here http://www.blender.com/guide/articles.aspx?id=1106 that a guy who went to school with them was a paraplegic, and they attached a thing to his head that allowed him to type, and he wrote a collection of poems. well, i guess its sort of like "whatever it means to you", which doesnt necessarily have to be the same thing it means to Bono. everyone can take away something different from it. its my habit to put a romantic interpretation on everything. ;) |

| U2 – One Step Closer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Right when i saw this track title, i was thinking "Bono's one step closer to the edge, and he's about to break" anyway, when i first read the lyrics to this song, i was wondering about the "special thanks to Noel Gallagher" (from Oasis for those who dont know) anyway, i googled and got this from an interview Bono: “I was talking to Noel Gallagher about my dad, who lost his faith toward the end of his life. And Noel asked, ‘Does he believe in God?’ And I said, ‘I don’t think he knows.’ So Noel went, ‘Well, he’s one step closer to knowing now.’ And I thought, ‘I’m going to write that song…’ |

| U2 – Miracle Drug Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
when he says The songs are in your eyes I see them when you smile I’ve had enough of romantic love I’d give it up, yeah, I’d give it up For a miracle, a miracle drug, a miracle drug to me that means that he would give up normal romantic meanderings to truly know her, to get inside her head. (the opening lyrics "i wanna trip inside your head") |

| U2 – Original of the Species Lyrics | 21 years ago |

i would agree that this is one of the best songs on the album. i dont quite know what it means, but the chorus of it sounds a lot like another song... anyone know what the song is that im thinking of? i dont think its by U2... |
