| I wanna say that TBS are going to do well since there new cd but i just think when they losy John they lost what i loved about them , there new album was good but, there last album everysong was amazing and i could listeb to it over and over and know since they dont have they influence of John writting in the music its just not touching me the same way there last album did im a TBS Fan and im not trying to put them Down i just think John is gifted in writting Music i would encourage you guy to listen to Straylight Run very good music if you like brand new you will like them. | |

John grew up in a Christian home and his father was a pastor, This song is talking about how when he was younger his faith was so strong but as he grew older it seems to fade a way even though he knew more about life, it gose on and he questions himself about the way he is liveing cuz he knows what is right even though he is not living that way "and i lie to my self and say this is for the best." his mother talk about this, and how they grew up in a christain home in many different magazines, John talks about how it seems like there no time for liveing a christian life ("and it takes more time then i ever had") and he goes on to say when he was younger he was so much stronger in his faith ("as young as i was, i felt older back then more disciplined, stronger and certian ") then he gose on to say he was save by grace but distoryed by naivety, which mean he fall from naivity and has lied to himself because he know's the way he should live in his heart but he choose not to("and i lie to my self and said it was for the best") as the song goes on he talk about how, what he believe in seens to change while he learns more about life, and the smarter he get the less he believes in his religion ("So now faith is replaced with logic so cold, ive disregarded what i was now that im older And i know much more then i did back then, but the more i learn the more i cant understand") now through the song he is contemplating his "new life" and he wonders will he even be happy with the life he is living now, ("ive become content with this life that i lead, where i drink to much and dont believe in much of anything?. And i lie to myself, and say its for the best.") many peope wonder what this means in the song ("Were moving forward but holding ourselves back, and were waiting on something that will never come...") This is talking about John Nolan as he keeps living the way he has been, saying he somday will turn back to the way he believes is the right way to live but he keeps holding back waiting for somthing that will never come.
