Obviously a song about suicide. I think it is simply telling a storey of someone (be it 1st person or not) who has ended their life and no one logically knows why. Sometimes a person's world looks perfect from the other side...maybe this is to make people think about the fact that each person deals with enternal tormoil...no matter how perfect or adored they seem? The reference to "make beauty stay" is not only a reflection of vanity but the negitive aspects of being worshiped? |

He says what everyone feels at one time or another. Your own thoughts are unique only to yourself. For instance if I sit a drinking glass in front of all of you...everyone will see it differently. He throws in some despair and isolation..and voila! the perfect AFI song. I will say this...I dont always understand the exact meanings of his songs...but I can FEEL the meanings. It is impossible to verbalize pain exactly. |

Why on earth would Davey bash his fans when he holds them in the highest regard...rediculas! I take it to mean something about a chic. I've had people cling so tight it feels like I am going to die..because at the end of the day they dont know me...they just focus on one part (their own perception of me). I like the first one too by fancyfeast. :) |

Intense anger in this one! I think it centers around what is expected of him from manangers, fans, friends, etc. etc. He dramatically represented the pain felt by expectations and how they were perceived. It all focuses on disappointment & realizing what is feasible and what isn't. The insect is a metaphore for himself. |

Yes, but if you look deeper into the song and listen to the music you will hear utter despair and mental tormoil. I think it is about the fact that he feels different than everyone, sees things differently, and finally people view him differently. This leads to feeling lost in yourself and withdrawing into one's self. Thus, the cracks lead toward him because he is the center point of disappointment to society, and he is reluctant to look people in the eye because that would enabl them to tear him apart. Usually people that cannot look you in the eye have low self esteem...maybe he was feeling espiecally "down" the day he wrote this? |
