I thought it was about their pessimism to political movements. They all start optimistic and with lots of support, but eventually people get bored and give up.
So in this song it builds up this tension, and then just peters out. It links to the theme in other songs like Albright Monument Baghdad, where too they are criticizing how people refuse to commit themselves to movements. |

The album version is slightly different from this, the 'kill the US' line is replaced with 'there's no US'. And the title is just 'US government'. It kind of seems like they sold out a little with this track, this is the original version of it, and the version they play live, so why change it for the album? |

I agree with razormasticator, this is one of the worst tracks I've heard by Manson. I would like to believe that the golden age is one large satire, like The
New Shit, of modern bands. But of course it could just be that he's just sold out and records like this are meaningless 13 year-olds fodder. Songs like this one suggest its the latter. |

play bunny and others, you dumbasses, im fairly sure everyone who has commented so far is a fan. And I agree with the intepretation that the song is meant as a stab more dumb music listeners. |

I believe it's meant to be E contemplating suicide. If you look at the whole album, he gets lower and lower down to this song, where he hits rock bottom. After which he slowly starts to recover. |
