Awesome song, kinda reminds me of cradle of filth at least vocally. Uses a similar droney kind of voice that dani filth uses when he's not doing the high pitched screams. A little less brutal than a lot of metal bands but the symphonic nature really makes for a good song. |

Wow, no comments. Great song. Seems to be about what christians would call idolatry, but seems to be a completely different religion altogether (obviously occult). I don't know much about this stuff so please refrain from bitching at me for not knowing much about it, and if you're planning on doing so if you could kindly fuck off and just hit the back button and move on ahead of time that would be great. If you do have some info for me however that would be great as well. :) |

I have to say the video for this song is quite an act of courage for them. I can't think of any other band that would shoot a porn video for a music video and actually act the scenes out. I'm not criticizing by any means, but this video is pretty damn ballsy. I was reading about the video and I guess they went to a bordello somewhere (forgive me for not giving all the details, I don't have the magazine in front of me, the article is in Revolver), and had to have a couple drinks before doing the shoot. |

I know you posted this forever ago, and I agree with your statement, but I think that verse is also a twist on John 3:16, which reads "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I do agree with your statement however, in that violence and hate will be the end of the world (I read a book that said that Armageddon will be caused by a nuclear war), but I thought I'd throw that out there for you. :) |

Pretty sure this is about Jesus sacrificing himself for people, and at the same time a metaphor for Jesus's guidance (the lost guy getting back on the right path) |

| Meshuggah – Personae Non Gratae Lyrics

Wow, no comments for a song as awesome as this?
Personae Non Gratae is (provided the google links I found were accurate, if they we're please refrain from jumping down my throat) latin for an unwelcome person. I see the lie to maintain equilibrium is a way to keep this person out of something (hence he is unwelcome) and forever unredeemed as a result of being unwelcome. The thought that never crossed my mind is now sparking thoughts that maybe this is a self loathing issue, but I honestly have no clue. Someone help me out here, and if you're gonna sit and bitch about how wrong i am, if you could kindly fuck off and click the back button before doing so that would be greatly appreciated. :) |

Another amazing Amon Amarth song. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks on this, but this song for whatever reason reminds me of some black metal bands I've heard in the guitar riffs and vocals(I know Amon Amarth is not black metal so don't even start bitching at me). Not sure on a meaning but it seems to be about warriors willingly sacrificing themselves on the battlefield. |

Wow, first comment, amazing song, not positive on a meaning but it seems to be about someone on a sinking ship. Great guitar solos at the end, some of the best I've heard from this band. |

Great song, I agree more with the perception of reality theories here more so than the acid trip, but Wu-Ming does have a point. I don't pretend to have taken acid but I've heard stories and supposedly acid makes you see some screwy shit, which this song seems to be hinting at. |

Great song, if I remember correctly this is some kind of tribute to HP Lovecraft. I don't know all the details but I think they're on this bands myspace. By the way, I'm not positive about this so if it's inaccurate please do me a favor and disregard this comment, I'm extremely sick of all the assholes on this website that bitch non-stop because they see things differently or see that someone made a mistake on a meaning. |

What's said makes sense here, and I'm almost feeling like I'm part of the group Steven is talking about sadly. I'll also mention that this song was kind of the "Lazarus" of this cd in that it had the same effect on me that lazarus did which was a calming/soothing/feel good vibe. |

It does sound like fucking but kinda throws off the vibe of the album in one sense. This song is great, the verses:
I owe you nothing
But scorn and contempt
From all that is holy
I will have my revenge
gives me a monster rush (like so many other songs for that matter), really powerful verse in my opinion. |

i mixed up shagrath and silenoz, silenoz slicks his hair back, just watched the vid for this song, halfpunk, i noticed his entire body seems to be smoking lol
but this vid also adresses human cruelty at its worst, and watching this video makes me cringe every time i see it. these clergymen are supposed to be spreading the word of the bible which encourages love and forgiveness yet they're burning people alive on stakes, that honestly makes my stomach turn over because that is no way to go. This video is extremely persuasive in my opinion, not in a really good or bad way, but it makes you look at both ends of the argument at hand within dimmus music (the conflicts between christianity and satanism/antichristian/whatever the fuck you wanna call it) |

I know that the members of blink were all really big fans of the cure. I would have never guessed that mikael spoke that part. I love Opeth also and knew they collaborated on deliverance and damnation (or that steven was involved however it worked out) but I wasn't aware of mikaels involvement in this song. Thats awesome, anyway, back to the song, as far as a meaning, I'm honestly not sure. I'm catching the ghost story with the line "A specter from the next life breathes his fog on the pane", but as far as what the story is in full I'm completely unsure. |

I really have no idea what the meaning of this song is but I'll say it is a really good track off of deadwing. As far as the story of the album goes, I'm assuming someone dies somewhere along the line with it being a ghost story, not to mention songs like arriving somewhere but not here, but i could be way off because I don't know for sure. |
