Gwen Stefani – Cool Lyrics 20 years ago
if It was Real, if you were really close and deeply passionately in love and were loved back in kind, it will NEVER be completely cool. it will be cordial, polite, yeah maybe even friendly. but it will never ever be totally cool. the yelling and crying are over and the dust has settled, ok, but the relationship with an ex is a very unique, awkward thing. awkward as hell. the person who knew the deep dirtyass shit inside you can never be just a plutonic social contact like someone you've never loved. eXpecially when you see (or are seen by) your ex with someone new. you can act so cool, you can say "after all that we've been through, i know we're cool" as much as you want, but deep inside you in a small secret place it just plain fucking sucks. breaking up sucks big dirty ass crack, and things are doomed to never again be cool. and the more that you've "been through" together, the less cool it will be. that's what this song means to me.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – No Woman No Cry Lyrics 20 years ago
Here are the correct lyrics. Singalong mon!

No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.

Said - said - said: I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown,
Oba - obaserving the 'ypocrites
As they would mingle with the good people we meet.
Good friends we have, oh, good friends we've lost
Along the way.
In this great future, you can't forget your past;
So dry your tears, I seh.

No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.
'Ere, little darlin', don't shed no tears:
No, woman, no cry.

Said - said - said: I remember when-a we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown.
And then Georgie would make the fire lights,
As it was logwood burnin' through the nights.
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,
Of which I'll share with you;
My feet is my only carriage,
So I've got to push on through.
But while I'm gone, I mean:
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right!
I said, everything's gonna be all right-a!
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right, now!
Everything's gonna be all right!

So, woman, no cry;
No - no, woman - woman, no cry.
Woman, little sister, don't shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry.

[Guitar solo]

I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown.
And then Georgie would make the fire lights,
As it was logwood burnin' through the nights.
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,
Of which I'll share with you;
My feet is my only carriage,
So I've got to push on through.
But while I'm gone:

No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.
Woman, little darlin', say don't shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry.

Eh! (Little darlin', don't shed no tears!
No, woman, no cry.
Little sister, don't shed no tears!
No, woman, no cry.)

Anna Nalick – Breathe (2 A.M.) Lyrics 20 years ago
What an awesome tune. I would say the last verse is about THIS website... "Cause these words are my diary screamin' out loud And I know that you'll use them however you want to." It speaks to the fact that we all have our own interpretation of song lyrics. We all put alot more thought into the words of a song than the author did, and we all bend the meaning toward our own point of view.

Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends Lyrics 21 years ago
I love the seasonal aspect that's peppered into the lyrics and how it parallels the relationship with his father (or whomever one has lost). Summer (the good time) has come and passed. In the fall, (September), things die out, it rains, it sucks. You long for the time when things were fresh and new, (when spring began), or in the case of the paternal relationship, his childhood. What a wonderful, horrible, sad fucking tune...I can't get enough of it.

The Rolling Stones – Paint It Black Lyrics 21 years ago
if you've ever lost a loved one, it's strange how people act around you. they don't know what to say or do, wanting to help but afraid to upset...that's what the line "I see people turn their heads and quickly look away" means to me. people avoid eye contact with the grieving.
Like a new born baby it just happens ev'ry day ... of course this is about death, in the end we all have it coming - the big dirt nap, baby!

Chronic Future – Time And Time Again Lyrics 21 years ago
He’s talking to his parents about their relationship and maintaining your values through the trial of adolescence and the pressures of your parents’ expectations. The risk is to become negative and jaded and to resist just to resist. In the end the best thing to do is to risk your furiousness and allow yourself bliss. In the end, it’s a song about hope, during the tough transitional stages of your life and your relationships while growing into the person you were meant to be.

Chronic Future – Shellshocked Lyrics 21 years ago
Very cool tune. He just got dumped - the bomb that she just dropped - and she's lying and pinning it on him like his character flaws are to blame. But who are you to tell me I'm not alright, you don't know what it's like to be me. In the end the truth will come out and the reason she dropped the bomb will be apparant, her false excuses will just fade away.
