Tool – The Pot Lyrics 19 years ago
well i didn't read all the posts so i don't know if it was said yet...
but i took 'muddy waters' to be bullshit. you know like when people say youre ankle deep in bullshit/swimming in bs etc.
and i think people already said it but theres a saying 'the pot calling the kettle black' which is basically calling someone a hypocrite. its when someone criticizes someone else for the same faults they possess.
then theres the don't go throwing your stones part. people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones blah blah.

so it seems to talk about hypocrites a lot, but besides that i'll admit i have no clue what this song is about. but i'm just now starting to learn about the whole kangaroo thing so maybe that will give me a new perspective.

ps: i love maynards vocals on this song, i know a looooot of people don't. when he sings 'what chyou talkin bout?' i just swoon. i love that mans voice.

oh, and ignore spelling mistakes etc

isn't it "vanishing like a sigh and slowly" instead of "vanishing like a cyan sunday"?
thats what i hear and it makes more sence to me

A Perfect Circle – Gimme Gimme Gimme Lyrics 20 years ago
hmm, i still hear 'i need a war, i need more'
i hear it the first time he says it, and the last two times he says it. the second and third time i hear 'more'
so i dont know, its probably just me hearing things as usual, but thats what i still hear
anyone else hear it?

oh and i forgot about the background noises, to me it just sounds like they left the mic on inbetween recording sessions, then put that in the song. i think wurby tictoc was saying the same thing.

anybody think anything different?
(remember, you hear more when you turn the sound waaaay up)

im not saying this is what its about, but this is the image i get when listening to this song: i see a scene with a serial killer going through his dark, leaky, flooded basement with all his tools and leftovers from victims. as he walks past the bodies he is proud of his work and starts couting them. as he gets to nine his mood changes and he starts to realize how many people he has killed. he goes on to body number ten and finally realizes the damage hes done.
the look of it all reminds me of texas chainsaw massacre

its actually very similar to what other people said, just a different situation. and its just a very strong visual i get so i thought id share it.

and also, isnt the album about addiction in general not just addiction to drugs?

System of a Down – Radio/Video Lyrics 20 years ago
if danny and lisa reallly are his childhood friends then i think the song is about getting back to his real life, away from celebrity life. like hes watching tv or listening to the radio and all of a sudden 'hey thats me!' and even if hes used to it by now its still weird. but then he thinks back to his childhood and remembers hes still just a normal person. thinking about his past when he wasn't famous takes him away from the weirdness. i think it makes sence

and to the LSD comment, i think if they were going to do that they would have done it in a more obvious way like 'lucy in the sky with diamonds' as the one person made reference to, not mixed up. unless theres a new drug 'SDL'

System of a Down – Question! Lyrics 20 years ago
yea the lyrics are 'when we, when we go, do we die?' theres no 'where do we go'; theres no 'all' its just 'ghosts are now waiting for you'; and not to be too nitpicky but all the 'thens' should be 'thans'

sorry, just had to make a few lyric corrections

my favorite song on the new album by far. it is so haunting and beautiful. and although i agree with ChristAlphaOmega about it dealing with the afterlife, i also agree with inhib that its not necessarily religious. you don't have to believe in god to believe in an afterlife.

but yea i think just saying its dealing with the afterlife is selfexplanitory enough. the only part i can't make a connection with is the 'sweet berries'. anyone have an idea of what thats about?
