| Arcade Fire – The Woodlands National Anthem Lyrics

I live in Houston, and have friends that live in the Woodlands. Infact, I used to date a girl that lived there. Having spent a lot of time there, I see where they are coming from. It's a perfectly planned community. Full of stuck up rich kids in big houses. The Woodlands is known for it's mall, and shopping in the mall area. While a nice place to visit and spend a weekend, I would never want to live there. I guess you would just have to spend a lot of time there to get it. |

I love the Decemberists, enough in fact to drive three hours to see them. However, this is song should have definatly been dropped. The begining sounds like bad porno music. I still love them, but this song is a party foul. |

I think everyone has felt like that at somepoint. He is in madly in love with a woman but she doesn't care that she has a good thing going. She wants the flame. She wants a guy who is emotionless (like a stone). And it drives him absolutly crazy. |

i think i read that this song is actually about democracy "Do you believe in something beautiful? Then, get up and be it!" i do see the eating reference. more than likely just a metaphore. |

actually, i brought this into my guitar instructor, he says it is actually in 4/4 believe it or not. the drumer just accents everything weird to give it the illusion, but i think it changes some. but yes. damn fine song. |

i think this song is connected to my dream girl don't exist. at the beginning of the live recording (i am assuming) he says that it is a connection to another song he wrote and at the end of the song he sings "And she goes, And now she knows that she'll never be afraid". pretty obvious really. |

i like what they said about this song in rolling stone "for six months all we did was get drunk and play dance hall" sounds like a good way to waste half of the year. |

i like the stream of consciousness. it is actually like he is sitting down telling the story to some one after awhile he starts to ramble. and the person he is telling has to be like "hey, finish the story". i'd almost say forest gump esque. |
