I just logged on to say that the day mentioned in the song has come, only to discover that somebody already did that. Who would have thought it would be the same day that Michael Jackson died? |

Propagandhi wrote this song to piss off the nazi skinheads who like ska that kept coming to their shows. They don't actually hate ska. |

Actually, "Smoke two joints" was written by an old reggae band called The Toyes. Sublime even says so at the end of 40 oz. to freedom. Of course limewire and all those other file sharing applications tend to credit all reggae songs to Bob Marley. |

So first he's "More PC than Ian." Then "he'll puke on you, he'll fuck your mom, he'll smoke while huffing gas." Kind of a contradiction there.

Oh yeah and the line "nowhere in that is anything gray" is most likely a reference to Touch of Grey. |

I agree with T-bag. Punks and Hippies actually have quite a lot in common. And even though Jerry is Dead, The Dead will never die. |

Everybody has their own way of dealing with the pressures of life. Some choose drugs, some choose alcohol, some choose religion. You people call prettyxlush a "friggen" loser for doing drugs, but maybe (s)he thinks you're a loser for believing the words written in a 2000 year old book. We all have our own way. This isn't what the song is saying, this is just MY opinion. |

I don't think this song has anything to do with serving God. I think he's simply saying that college isn't for everyone. In my opinion, the last few lines are supposed to be straight-forward. Everybody has their own way, and it's up to them to find it.
The line that bothers me the most is "I called, found out she had three other 'boyfriends' last semester." Somehow, I don't think they were "boyfriends" so much as "guys she hooked up with." |

This song reminds me of people from my hometown.
And I think it's "You spent all your money on shitty drugs." It only says coke once. And it's definitely "Daddy" who won't buy the new car, not Pappy. |

He probably got booed in America for anti-Bush lyrics because most country fans are conservative. If his music was more rock-ish, he probably would not have gotten the same reaction. And since this song was written in 1971, it was probably about Vietnam, not Iraq. |

I could have sworn the line "I'm all alone" was "mobile phone" in the original, but I guess that doesn't make much sense because most people did not have cell phones in 1995. Anyway, i liked the original better. |

Those are not the real lyrics. They're just lyrics from a you-tube "interpretation" video.
The real lyrics, as listed in their album that just came out are:
Tonight this cunt will pay.
My dick beats up her face.
Her life and her cunt are mine.
This slut shall now see.
All night on this bitch, I release my piece.
Yes, yes, I am the man,
And I will kill you when I can.
You can try to run.
But you're done.
Run.
Gun to your head.
One more sound and you're dead.
Kick in your teeth,
With my cock piece.
Sweet labial meat.
Her inside-out twat,
Tastes great to eat.
Dripping and slipping and oozing and flowing with spit.
This vile slit,
Will ghost ride my prick.
Blood pours from her tender throat.
I left her bound to a tree.
Nude, Mangled, Butchered and Blasted.
Now these skanks know not to fuck with me. |

This song is not "wimpy" It's beautiful.
I think it's about a one night stand. "I'm not looking for love; I'm just looking for tonight" clearly illustrates that.
"Tell me I'm yours; tell me you're mine" but "tell me a lie." |

I agree with basically everyone. To add on to what bluetears said, yes rasatafarianism is spawned from judaism and christianity. People don't really believe half the stuff it says. They just think Bob Marley is cool, like reggae, and want to smoke pot. But, Bob Marley is cool and reggae is awesome, rasta or not. And pot is just as illegal for rastas, so you don't need a religion for it. |

I think the cell phone thing is kind of a metaphor for his relationship with a certain someone.
"And I regret that I'm completely out of daytime minutes
And so I guess i'll have to wait a lot til 8 o'clock comes around." I don't think he's literally talking about a phone, but how he can't be with the girl (or God) all the time. |

I think this song is about all the problems that families tend to go through. Divorce, Death, Kids growing up and leaving home, kids being raised wrong. This seems like Steve's attempts to comfort his family, saying that he loves them no matter what happens. I think it could also be interpreted to be about a girl with abusive parents, an asshole boyfriend, and a low-paying job. He could be saying he is here to comfort her. |

This is basically what's going on with me right now. I have a huge crush on this girl. She likes the same music, movies... and shares the same opinions as me. We have similar interests. She is the most awesome girl ever, and I'm thinking how much I want her, but she just wants to be good friends. I'm worried that if we aren't together I'm not going to want any other girl, because I could never find another girl as awesome as her. Hence "The other stupid girls won't do." |
