I just want to say this is my first time on this sight, and I have been looking at alot of singers and bands for fans take on certain songs, and you have been the most insightful of it all. I knew Counting Crows and the fans would never dissapoint me. But I relate this song to my own life, i always have. It's a very flexible song that you can relate to yourself. |

For me, and me only, I dedicate this song to you Cole, I do find myself singing our favorite songs on late night drives. And I didn't get to say goodbye, but I love you. And thanks to Yellow Crad for giving me a connection to my best frined who died, through this song. |

It's a great pump up song. Plus I love the idea of "Sing and dnace and play for you tonight, the thrill of it all!" Performing is a great out, it's great way to get out from the clouds that hang over you. |

I think this song is great, not just the lyrics, but the music. It starts out with an almost triumphant sound. Becuase she, or myslef, or you, has finally found a way to overcome the "Fear" from the previous song. I use it as pump me up song, when i doubt myself with someone. I really like Shaken's idea's too. |

An artist or an author writes something for us to analyze for ourselves, and apply it to our lives, so i agree with all that you say. But have you noticed how right after this song on the CD she puts Fumbling Towards Ecstasy with the firt lines "all the fear has left me now, I'm not frightened anymore." It's all the emotions of love, and I think she strategically put these two songs in the order she did. |

I like your inturpritaion of this spiralled I hav'nt thought of it that way, but I can now. I look at as a spiritual thing. You have your love for whatever you believe in, and yet, you know that you have not given the credit where it is due, and loved it as you should. You have almost pushed yourself away from that force, that loves you, to ecperience the world, and now you have realized where you should really be. Therefore the winter it cold, and bitter. I've been pulled down by the undertoe, and I just look to the Lord to help pull me out of the pit i have created for myself. We all can be better than we are. |

I have always loved this song, and thought it to be about loosing a loved one to an illness. But it never hit me like it does now, until my best friend was diagnosed with cancer, when we took him to the hospital, and he sat on the bed in his gown, and looked at me with fear in his eyes, because he knew he had cancer, this song popped into my head. Ever since then, it is a memory of him, and our frinedship. It truly is a beautiful song of love and devotion to those who are leaving your life in pain. |
