It's pretty obvious what this song is about- Taking a sort of nonchalant attitude to being hurt. Especially the second part of the song, to me is being hurt and not being self-pitying but saying "ok I'm going to hate you" Like it says, "It's not mature and its not progressive, that doesn't alter the fact" I love how the girl's solo is the verse which talks about her. She's got inside his head, so it's her voice singing. Pure brilliance. |

I love this song so much. I think it is about someone just about to die. (btw. I am pretty sure in the first line Tom sings "please hold my hand *Lord* now" not *for*) |

This song makes me so nostalgic and depressed but I love it- To me it is about the best summer I ever had ('03) where I hung out every day with my friends just having a laugh and didn't once feel that I wanted to go back to school because I was bored. Now, over a year later, we've all moved on and we hardly speak to eachother. The lines "I would stop time to stay with you" is just what sums it up. I would give anything to go back to that time and for it to just keep on going. I guess it brings back different memories for different people. Probably my favourite LP song |

| HIM – Join Me In Death Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Lol now I'm not going to take what Ville said literally but I just thought it would be amusing to post what he said at the gig I went to a couple of weeks ago..... something about Finnish christmas and eating "the rudolphs" and this song being about when they play Russian Roulette. I'm not going to get sucked into the arguments here. He was probably taking the piss, I just thought it would be funny to tell you all what he said :) | |
| Reuben – Stuck In My Throat Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this is about someone who really loves the other person but they've been cheated on. They want to say that they still love them but they just can't bring themself to say it because they've been hurt so much. I think the first verse is the admittance of the unfaithful lover- "It disgusts me that I could be so petty and weak" They are sorry and the other person wants to accept that, yet there's this part of them that just can't say those words of forgiveness. (Now that I know it could only be you, I try to speak out but the words are missing) | |
| Reuben – Dusk Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I see the "but we know" as a kinda of underlying thought to the fact that they're trying to laugh and joke and make life normal but this person is dying. | |

i believe he's saying "And now this will all stop, And I won't have to run or rush or push or drive, And I'll give back everything I took, And I'll kiss everyone I know, And I'll fall asleep, And I won't wake up for weeks and weeks... " I'm thinking maybe it's about someone you love who is terminally ill and you're trying to keep them happy and stuff but they've spiralled down into depression and you try to "joke about it" but all the while you both know that there's nothing you can do |

| Snow Patrol – How to Be Dead Lyrics | 21 years ago |

i think it's a parent and a child arguing. The child feeling smothered (It seems I've stepped over lines You've drawn again and again) and the parent thinking they'e doing what's best by telling the child what to do because they've been through it before. Eg. "Oh baby let me explain something It's all down to drugs At least I remember taking the and not a lot else" I think if you read through it with the perspective that the parent and child are alternately the singer in the song then it makes sense |
