hmm. great song! first up ;) i guess it could be about domestic violence. both (boy&girl) had problems to learn how to love during their childhood because they could have probably been hit by their parents, etc. ... figurativly they never or barely received love and have to deal with the consequences now. like longing for a lot of love, but being unsure if they could get it from their partner and being very sceptical. that could be "share the same scar" the rest of the song fits quite good to this theory i think love is strangest of feelings = oh it can be a paradox thing ;) love you, until your eyes run dry ..and.. fate full of rust = things everybody knows,the first big love(s) mostly aren't the "loves of your life", maybe the one you'll marry or so. every breakdown and end of a realtionship is a cut in your life and you seem to have to start from the beginning (but later recognize what you've learned from that) to love on a night without feelings ..and.. she says:I hear sound, I see fury = could be a flashback to what happend to her in her childhood when she has been hit or abused, guess at night. so it's even harder for her to trust him and so on, what i wanted to say was: everybody someday learns how to love, but if you never learned how to love, the harder it is to learn how to love :D :D :D you got it ? ;) seeya ^^ |

this is 'our song' as we call it. my girlfriend, at a time we yet weren't together, wrote me the lines "All the miles that separate Disappear now when I'm dreamin' of your face " then i wanted to know from which band this song is and i finally got and heard it all day. she also had bought a rose for me with a little 'i love u'-card and on it's inside there was the sentence "Everything I know, and anywhere I go It gets hard but it won't take away my love " every day of our relationship i felt so lucky, so invulnerable. i thought nothing would ever change our love for another but.. 2 days ago my girlfriend had told me that our relationship was over and still i can't and i don't want to believe it. She was and still is the most important thing in my life. she told me that she doesn't want to lose me and i feel the same. i would still do everything for her. well, she will be able to live without me, but i, i just can't live without her because i love her so much and nothing will ever change this as the lines that she once wrote on the card describe. i'm hearing this song all day cause i just can't imagine this happened. i only remember her saying things like "do you know how much i love you" or "promise me that you'll never leave me!" it hurts me so much, i just don't know what to do know, my life will become so empty and at this moment, i feel like my life isn't worth living anymore. to me, this song, is the most important person in my life and all the memories i relate with her.... it seemed so perfectly |

But everytime i hear it, its powerful tension makes me think of what an asshole i sometimes can be and makes me think about my bad habits and to finally break them. fact, with the war in and against iraq he has only finished what his father has begun and what he failed to do. well, u may be right if u say that the government and bush administration is trying to save and protect those people but it is definatly the wrong way they go to succed. 'bombing for peace is like fuckin for virginity' if u know that quotation. u'll see this as exaggerated, but it's the truth! if u can show me the weapons of mass destruction that were supposed to be in iraq, cum on, i'd like to see them. and please tell me, how else and with which argument can this war still be justified after the bush administration retracted their major argument, the not existing weapons of mass destruction, for going into iraq?! and just like Taurendil said, violence generates violence, and it feels like u don't realize that.... |

ehm, just btw.... does the expression 'alien nation' make any sense? to me it sounds like 'idiot nation', which would fit better into the context in my opinion. listen to the chorous carefully and you'll see. oh, sry if some1 wrote that before, was to tired to read all that stuff above! ^^ and yeah, billy said it wasn't a anti bush song but against the current state of the US. in my opinion that's the same :D and they just don't want to become a subject of censorship! it's more than obvious that somethings wrong in and with america right now and that this song criticizes that fact. so far ;) |
